Dusty rolled his eyes, still playing. "Sensitive. At least she waited until eighteen. How old were we, Maya?" Maya smirked. "Seventeen and fifteen, give or take. Back when I talked like Tavi, too."
Rep: (sets the orb hovering in midair) Good Luck. I'm out of here, until the battle starts. (With a twist in Reality, he vanishes) *Selena's notebook sat on the counter, having been forgotten in her haste to get out of there. And if anyone had seen her face, they might've seen tears in her eyes, if and only if they looked extremely closely, and a few drops of liquid were on the notebook, slowly being absorbed by the paper.*
The rookie sighed. "Fine. Maybe you're right. Maybe we'll make it through this." He was probably wrong. I mean, he is kinda just a nameless NPC, and we all know how it goes for nameless NPCs. *************************************************************************** Nightshade sat up in bed and lit a cigarette. "That was fun. We should... uh... do it again sometime." **************************************************************** Rain shook her head. "I appreciate that, but I don't want sympathy. I want revenge."
*Strange vortices began forming around the field* *The shadow creature managed to get into the field and was actively searching for one of two living things, either Rep or that meddler that drove the shadow away in the first place*
Moonshine set the orb on her worktable and ignored it until Raven's armor was done. Like most weapons and armors she crafted, Raven's armor had several small indentations, lined with silver, and inscribed with odd symbols. At first glance, they appeared to be purely decorative, but they served a very important purpose. In Moonshine's workshop were hundreds of boxes filled with enchanted gemstones, cut to fit perfectly into the 'enchantment slots,' as she called them. Each gem would add its specific enchantment to whatever it was set into. She would install the enchantments when Raven returned, but for now, it was done. Setting the armor aside, she retrieved the orb, scanning it with her magic. It was an interesting device. The strands it produced seemed to almost alive, giving off a strange form of psychic energy she'd never seen before. Drawing out a strand and wrapping it experimentally around her foreleg, she gave the anvil a gentle nudge-- and sent it flying across the room. She grinned. "Oh, I can work with this."
Rep: (Voice is heard by Moonshine.) You want to know anything else about this, or have any questions, touch the strands or the orb and ask. I'll hear.
Raven, panting heavily, leaned her head against Nightshade's chest. "Since... since when do you smoke?" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Asmo cackled. "I'm always right! Who wants to try again, without acting like a wuss this time?" ~~~~~~~~~~~~ "I understand," Navaja replied. "So do I." ~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Did you forget?" Azrael asked Blackened.
Nightshade laughed, biting the candy cigarette in half. "I don't." ******************************************************************************* The soldiers exchanged looks, then all charged Asmo at once. **************************************************************************** Rain sighed. "So you're going to be fighting with the other assassins? I heard Rose called in the Sisterhood, too. Will there be trouble between the two?" ************************************************************************ Moonshine nodded. "So does this stuff need direct contact to work?"
"Oh..." Raven snickered, wiping sweat from her face. "Had me going there." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Asmo managed to block all but a few of the soldiers with his eldritch limbs, taking the full force of whatever those few were dishing out. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "I certainly hope we're all mature enough to join forces just this one time. But we'll see."
Rep: (to Moonshine until further notice) Not necessarily. Depends on Psychic Resistance. Closer it is to physical contact, the stronger the link, but the harder it is to control. Now may I ask you a question about your work?
Nightshade nodded. "So you wanna head downstairs? I can finally buy you a drink now." ************************************************************************************* The rookies did a little bit better this time, some attacking the tentacles directly while others charged through the gaps their comrades made in Asmo's defenses. **************************************************************************************** Rain nodded. "I hope so. You and Rose managed to get along... sort of." **************************************************************** Moonshine shrugged. "Ask away, Disembodied Voice Of Some Dude I Just Met."
"Sure do." Raven stretched and rolled out of bed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Azrael's ear twitched, and he walked over to punch the given code into the bar safe. "She's on her way down." "Got it." Maya quickly turned off and put away the old console. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Well... Si. Sort of."
One, I believe you made these? *The Blade of Harmony appears* Two, how did you manage to create a blade able to withstand the amount of energy that these can? Its incredible. Selena: (Outside the bar, behind it, wrapped in a very low level perception filter, anyone who has had any substantial mind training can find her. Tears running down her face.)
"Good!" Even though they did better, Asmo managed to get tentacles around several and hurl them up into the air.
Nightshade and Raven, slightly disheveled, made their way down to the bar. ****************************************************************** The rookies, as expected, lost again, and Blackout stepped in. "I think they've had enough for now. I'm going to get a few healers over here. See you at the bar?" **************************************************************************** Rain sipped her drink and nodded, and the pair drifted into a companionable silence. ************************************************************************************* "The blade itself is an alloy of iron, carbon, silver, and refined alicornite. Crazy expensive, almost indestructible, and a pain in the ass to work with."
Navaja quickly finished off his own glass of wine. He was clearly a bit worried about the battle. And he was planning something life-changing, assuming they succeeded. ~~~~~~~~~~~ After Azrael finished entering the code, a round table was lowered down from a secret door in the ceiling. Atop the table was a huge, towering chocolate cake. On the sides, a life-sized cake battle axe and guitar leaned against the cake. This was clearly professionally made, likely by a certain pink pony. Dusty blew on one of those noise-making things you see on New Year's Eve, while Maya yelled, "Happy birthday, Rave!" Coming down the stairs, Raven's eyes widened in amazement at the cake. "That's the coolest baked treat I've ever seen..." ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Asmo nodded, turning to the bar. "Sure. They're learning teamwork pretty quick anyway. They'll make pretty durable fodder."
RepB : (Appearing in the bar.) Happy Birthday Raven. (Thinking "I want to try something.") (projecting his thoughts, but shielding them from Dusty, to see something. "Can anyone hear this? If so, repeat the code please: Penguins fly during the frozen fire. ") RepM: ((Moonshine)) Interesting. Has your species discovered a metal known in many places that the Council has traveled to or heard of, as Mithril? Regardless of spelling, it fundamentally is all the same. Immense propensity for enchantment and energy manipulation. Selena: (still outside, quietly sobbing, her emotions seeming to emanate from her mind but not very far at all, to about two feet away)
