He had been training to join the Imperial Army before the destruction of Alderaan de-legitimized the Empire in his eyes and made him realize the 'order' he believed the Empire brought was to be bought and sold through fear and in-discriminate violence. He and his platoon attempted to escape their training camp, however the Imperial officers found out on the night of the escape, leading to a running firefight that left most of the 32 escapees dead or surrendered, with Baren being only one of five to successfully escape the training camp and eventually fled the planet on a cargo vessel. He eventually managed to join up with the rebel alliance, under which he has served for two years. They were commonly encountered throughout the galaxy, from the bountiful planet of Naboo to the desert world of Tatooine. They were known to engage in many different pursuits, from politics to bounty hunting. Species that bore structural resemblance to humans were referred to as "humanoids." Bio: Raene was born to a wealthy family on Corucsant, and lived a mostly normal life until joining the Republic Navy. She steadily climbed the ranks and fought throughout the majority of the Clone Wars, up until the formation of the Galactic Empire. The many atrocities committed by the Empire disgusted her, but Alderaan was the last straw. Shortly after the Battle of Yavin, she and a group of like-minded Imperials staged a mutiny against the captain of their ship, the Firelance. After dispatching any loyalists on board, and escaping capture from the Imperial Fleet, Raene was elected leader of this small rebel cell. They now travel across the galaxy, seeking to join forces with the Rebel Alliance. Strengths: A born leader, makes choices and sticks to them. Weaknesses: Her tactics could be considered too aggressive. Here's the info on her ship, by the way. The Firelance is a modified Interdictor Dreadnaught, with a length of 600 meters and the capability to project interdiction fields, areas of space where hyperspace cannot be achieved. It carries a complement of 16 TIE Fighters, and 8 TIE Bombers, along with 4 Lambda-Class Shuttles. It carries 20 guns for capital ship combat, with 10 facing forwards, 5 on the port-side, and 5 on starboard-side. Additional modifications have been made to install several missile batteries for taking down more armored foes, along with an upgraded Gravity Well Generator to allow it to keep much larger ships from making jumps to hyperspace. However, the draw on resources caused by both of these weakens the shields when in use, forcing the ship to take out it's target quickly or get punished. Also, the mutiny killed a large number of the ship's crew, rendering it weakened and disorganized for the moment.
