Orchid didn't know how to really respond, sighing deeply as her breath seemed to be rather nervous in tone. She looked towards the small group of girls, looking extremely uncomfortable and nervous. Her dress swayed slightly in the breeze as she turned around to face all of them. "I guess it's true....I'm really not okay. I haven't been alright for a long time..." "What do you mean?" Pinkie's normally happy tone sounding deflated. Meanwhile, Circuit and Crimson were approaching the group in their own conversation, with Crimson having been out of hospital since the weekend. And so Orchid explained what had happened on her side. How exactly she came to be the girl that she was, an awkward wreck among all things. She explained small things such has how her mother had died in a car crash one night when she was very young, and how her father had raised her since then. Then....some parts of the story started to sound uncomfortable.....then unpleasant. Then, it was outright horrifying....
Vomiting sounds could be heard as Rarity screamed. "Circuit..." said Rarity menacingly, "my clothes... are not a toilet." "Oops... sorry," Circuit replied awkwardly. "To be fair, Circuit, hearin' about poor Orchid's home life made me a bit queasy too," said Applejack. None of them were expecting the next sound they heard, however... Laughter. Orchid was giggling as she saw Rarity's reaction to her now pukestained clothes. "Well, that's a bit rude, isn't it?" said Rarity. "...you should've seen your face," Orchid replied as the laughter continued. "Heh, guess that was a little funny," replied Circuit.
While he wasn't there to listen to all of it, Crimson's eyes were totally widened at the surprisingly gruesome details that Orchid seemed to share. He did however, find it hilarious when Circuit's weak stomach decided to pay Rarity a visit. Orchid's laughter, as if sounding like an angels harmonica, was just the cherry on top. Meanwhile, Sunset started to construct some of the minor details in her head about Orchid's story. Some of the details seemed to be strikingly similar to the ones that the group had been investigating, plus the one's that Crimson's mother had been privately sharing with the group of teenagers whenever she made a breakthrough. "Orchid, don't mind me for saying this but....when did your mother die?" Sunset seemed to ask out of the blue. "Oh...it wasn't long after I was born...." Orchid seemed to tell Sunset. "......Why do you ask?" Suddenly, alarm bells started to ring in the red-headed girls mind.
"D-Dad!?" Orchid suddenly piped up. "Wha? He's been around me for my entire life, why would he do anything like that?" Circuit added something. "Orchid....do you really think that he loves you with the stuff he put you through?" Orchid looked in disbelief, then had a long moment of silence in thought. "I...don't know."
"Yeah, if you really think about it, he already sounded like kind of a sick freak to me," said Rainbow Dash. Orchid's mind was racing as she tried to absorb this information. She knew something was wrong with her, but the more she thought about it, she was almost sure that that something wasn't her fault... "Guys... I think I might have Stockholm syndrome," she explained. "I've been thinking about it, and I have the symptoms. I just was never 100% certain until now... I always thought I might have had some other problem."
Orchid started to feel herself well-up before she started to cry, now trying to vent out all the years worth of terror and abuse that she had been dealing with ever since she was born. She was shivering like a leaf. "It....finally makes sense now. The horror....the suffering...all by the man that I've been calling "Dad" ever since I was a baby. I.....must have been taken from my real parents as a baby! Kidnapped by some sick bastard that.....that~" She was unable to continue before breaking down into tears as the girls did their best to try and soothe the emotions of the new student, as all of them gave Orchid a hug, with the exception of the vomit-covered Rarity. Circuit's frown was ever apparent as he looked directly into the eyes of Orchid, easily being able to see broken parts of her soul in her colorful orbs. In some weird sense, it was almost like Circuit could see himself in Orchid's place somehow..... The computer geek turned around to look at Crimson with a serious look in his eyes, before nodding slightly. Crimson nodded back in response as he suddenly walked off away from the group of friends for privacy, taking out his mobile in his hand before vanishing around a corner. Circuit sighed as he looked over at Orchid with a smile. "Don't worry Orchid, everything is going to be fine...." Circuit said with a reassuring smile. "I promise...." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the men's bathroom.... Spoiler: Music for scene To ensure that nobody was to follow or listen to his conversation, Crimson checked every single stall to make sure that nobody would be able to eavesdrop on what he was about to say. To make sure, Crimson locked the bathroom door from the inside. Anyone that needed to go can just go to one of the other men's bathrooms He soon began to dial a number into his touchpad and hold the phone to his ear, soon starting to pace as the phone began to dial. Soon, he made a connection. "Hey Mum...." Crimson spoke before looking at his reflection in the mirror. "We've made a breakthrough..."
Crimson's eyes darted around the bathroom, still making sure that nobody was listening. "The missing piece...new student came in today. She's not only suffering abuse at the so-called killer, but I think she's living evidence for his crimes. Her name is Orchid Bloom." Winter remained silent for a moment on the other end of the phone. "I'm listening....." The woman spoke.
"Sorry, I don't have enough time, bell's about to ring," replied Crim. "I'll tell you more at the station after school."
---------------------- When Crimson came back to the group, the group of friends were both sitting down near a bench in the hallway. Despite that class had started, Orchid's emotional state caused the group of friends to look after their newfound friend. Circuit looked at Crimson, who's hands were hidden into his jacket. "She knows now." Crim told him. "Mum's running reports now. I'm seeing her later on." Circuit sighed in relief. "Thanks Crimson....bet this will be a good sign of things to come." Ivy was nursing Orchid, rubbing her back to help encourage her to vent it all out of her system. Just out of the corner of her eye, right near the back of Orchid's neck, seemed to be a tiny scar. She didn't want to question it, but from what Orchid had just described about herself, it was best if she didn't want too...." "Good Grief..." Sunset said exasperated
"At least this is over... right?" asked Ivy nervously. "Ah hope so," replied Applejack, "Ah've had enough criminal investigation for a lifetime."
A couple of hours later In an upper middle-class neighborhood just northeast from downtown Canterlot, the sunset outside was just another picturesque view of a beautiful part of town. On the balcony of a two-story house, a man in a white suit with blonde hair looked towards the city, a cup of coffee in his hand and a smile on his face. Everything was so quiet and peaceful, and that was the way he liked it. Despite his smile, he looked quite agitated. His daughter had started her first day at the new school she was suddenly sent to, and she wasn't home yet. Sangira, a self-made man, already had enough to deal with whenever his daughter tried to rebel against him. But the discipline that he inflicted onto, he felt, was totally justified. Sometimes the spoiled brat deserved it, but nethertheless.....Orchid loved her father. The silence was shattered when he spotted something out of his eye....police cars. ---------------------------------------------- Spoiler: Music for scene (Heavily suggested) Upon finding the missing link, and the invaluable evidence that she had been presented with, the Canterlot Police Department was on-alert and prepared for something big. The Police was heading towards the destination, speeding to catch this criminal before he manages to escape again. And this time, the CPD wasn't playing around. En route was 4 heavily armored vans, 5 police cars as reinforcements to block any possible exits and even a patrol helicopter to survey the skies. Winter wasn't playing around....
Spoiler: Music Sangria made a run for it, grabbing a shotgun along the way. He got into his forest green 1969 Ford Mustang and drove away as fast as he could, with the police hot on his tail. ---- Winter was driving the lead squad car, a 1986 Ford LTD Crown Victoria, as she wanted to bring the suspect in personally. "That's right," she muttered under her breath, teeth gritted, "keep driving, you sick son of a *squee!*."
As soon as the escaping mustang took to the highway, news about the chase became viral. With the patrol helicopter following in pursuit, among the assortment of cars right on the Mustangs tail, things were about to become dangerous. Although the vans were nowhere near as fast as the patrol cars, they were reinforced with enough bulletproof armor to scrape off nearly all small-arms fire. This proved especially useful as Sangira, in a bid to shake off the police, loaded a shell into his shotgun while he was driving and fired directly through the back window. Some of the pellets failed to break the glass of a patrol car, but it was enough to crack it. "Shots fired, suspect is armed and dangerous." One of the officers said into an intercom. "Make sure he falls into the trap. Block off all incoming exits except the left lane at the overpass." Winter ordered. "We're not going to lose him. Failure is absolutely not an option today."
"Copy that, Chief, we're on route now," said another officer. "Chief, slow down!" said Copper Top, Winter's lieutenant, as she grasped onto the door nervously. "And let him get away?" replied Winter, glaring angrily at Copper, "Yeah nah, fat chance!"
Winter gripped the wheel as she suddenly floored it, the speedometer flying to dangerously fast speeds as she caught up to the escaping Mustang ahead. Copper Top didn't like it, gripping onto her seat in fear as the Chief next to her had a determined look in her eyes, and a smile on her face. She was enjoying this. The highway ahead was about to divert just outside of town, now heading to the rural farm lands. The roads were wider, but it was a straight road for miles with nowhere to go. The escaping car had nowhere to go, and once the Chief was to go onto the offensive, she had him all set. Soon, the turnoff came up and the Chief boxed the mustang in, pushing him onto the highway exit. Soon, she slowed down and waited to spring her trap...
Sangria shifted into the left lane and ran the red light at the overpass. "Chief, he's getting away!" Copper said nervously. Winter, however, was not worried. She knew the city like the back of her hand. Besides, she knew that whatever happened, she would win. If he had kept going straight, he would have eventually been trapped in, as it was a straight road for miles and all other exits were blocked. If he were to keep going down the road he turned onto at the overpass, he'd leave town, at which point Winter would inform the state police and it would only be a matter of time before he would be pulled over. "Let him think he's won," said Winter. ---- As Sangria approached the outskirts of town, he noticed a quaint little farm on the right-hand side of the road. It was mostly dominated by an apple orchard, though a barn could be seen through the trees. At the leftmost end of the farm was a small log cabin with an apple engraved into the front door. He got out of the car, hopped the fence, and walked up to the front door. Sangria knocked on the door, trying to act as casual as possible. After a few moments, the door opened, at which point he heard the unmistakeable sound of a shotgun being cocked. "End of the line, sugarcube," said Applejack, smirking as she aimed her double-barreled firearm at Sangria's face. Behind her was her older brother, Big Macintosh. He was a rather burly college age man with pale maroon skin and mustard brown hair. He said nothing, but merely cracked his knuckles menacingly. Sangria realized he had left his gun in the car. "*squee!*."
Sangria internally was screaming at where he was currently sitting right now. Nearby was a gun-totting band of hicks on the outskirts of town, at least in his mind, and he wasn't really happy about it. He was almost point-blank within Applejack and her brother, looking at them with a certain level of smugness in his eyes. Dressed in his white suit, he felt the clouds above him start to patter rain onto the dirt ground below. To him, it was over. This was the day where luck had abandoned him in his most crucial moment, and where his current life would end. Applejack gripped her shotgun, as she threatening looked at the unarmed blonde man with the dirtiest look. "Get onto the ground now...." Applejack coldly told him. Sangria grunted at the two of them, following her command. Just as he did, it started to rain...
Applejack pulled out her cell phone and dialed a number. "Winter, this here's Applejack," she said into the phone, "We got 'im."
