Didn't watch the Russian leak, but I saw the episode on its premiere date today and liked it. I loved how calm Twilight was about Zecora turning into a tree compared to Fluttershy. We all knew what was going to happen in the end, but I still enjoyed the "Fluttertree" tease.
Yeah, I didn't watch the Russian dub either. So anyway, Flut has apparently been hanging around with Zecora and Sparky long enough to start picking up on some of their habits. Maybe she should hang out with Dashie more so she can learn to fly a bit faster. In all seriousness, this was a nice episode and I'm now wondering if there is a reason for all of the Legends of Equestria tie-ins... finale implications... maybe? Also, I'm pretty sure this is as close as we'll get to Fluttertree. Would've been funny for her to at least sprout a branch or two. I liked the message to. Helping others is important but it's just as important to take care of yourself. Tidbits: Wet mane Zecora is officially canon!! I couldn't help but think of the whole "trees that were once humans" thing from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past when the doc rattled off the symptoms. Overall: 7/10
Can we just discuss how one of Equestria's most legendary mages was an earth pony? I liked this episode, but the implication that all of the trees that caused the swamp fever used to be living, thinking creatures was a bit unsettling. That's some nightmare fuel sh*t right there.
That lesson at the end felt really tacked on. This was an "adventure" episode, it didn't need a lesson at the end. Besides, Zecora was about to DIE, so Fluttershy staying up late was justified.
Yeah, I was kinda puzzled at Twilight's lack of urgency about a disease with no known cure that is going to kill one of your friends. I was on team Fluttershy for this one. House would fire Twilight after this.
