    I'm starting to think I got ripped off. I thought I'd paid for DLC that allowed me to play as an Octoling in online play. What I got was a bunch of BS levels that would make even Jimmy the Wizard want to smash his controller!!! *dying inside*

    No you didn't get ripped off. The Octo Expansion is more than a appliance of the Octoling to Splatoon 2. This DLC expands on the lore of the world of Splatoon and revels that there is something very wrong going on in the underground. Just so you are aware. You do not need to complete all the trail stages. You only need to beat enough or bypass enough to get the Thangs. Once you have all four, you can advance to the final bit of the story mode. Once you beat all of Story Mode, then the Octoling will be usable for online play.

    The Octoling, once in Inkolpolis, will have all the stats from your Inkling carried over. Your current level, weapons, and clothing you posses will be shared between the Inkling and Octoling. And you'll be able to switch between the two.

    I wish I could find a full map so I knew which levels I need to do and which I can leave alone. I have found one decent level for grinding up some cash too.
