My husband was watching me while I was on this forum and saw your signature, Dragonbait. He said "Someone turned you into a pony" with the dramatic Rarity bit. He got kicked for it. :I
Yeah. TF2 has unfortunately fallen to the same issues that make games like Fortnite and Call of Duty hard to play. Not to mention the over-abundance of microtransactions. Even old fans of TF2 cannot play it anymore, because of how it is.
I think a lot of it is the game going free to play. Lets people be jerks get banned and just make a new account. I hope Overwatch stays away from that. The new modes people are creating in the development area look promising. Also, he deserved the kick.
Pretty much. TF2 going full on free to play pretty much marked the death of what was a truly fun game. I know how toxic things like Fortnite are. I play Fortnite on a on and off basis. Just as a casual thing. I know first hand how horrible the community is for that game. The fact TF2 has reached that level of toxicity is both scary and sad. Also yeah. Overwatch needs to be wary of the Free To Play thing. Otherwise it'll face the same fate as TF2. And truthfully, I don't wish that on Overwatch, or any game. Also, avoid Apex Legends. It's basically a Fortnite/PUBG wanna be.
Never played TF2 or Overwatch (or the Splatoon games, for that matter); none of them are my glass of orange juice. Only reason I'm familiar with TF2 at all is because MLP's fandom is everywhere. Exhibit A: This clip from Ponies the Anthology 5... ...and Exhibit B: this video based on Andrew W.K.'s 'Party Hard'.
GMod and TF2 pretty much came hand in hand when it came to videos of that kind. And it's true that a huge archive of ponies stuff happened once MLP was on the popular upswing. Don't get me wrong. There are a few that still do stuff with ponies. But it's died down a lot.
Which raises a question that's been bugging me, but at the same time hasn't been interesting enough to me: what exactly is GMod?
GMod is short for Garry's Mod, which is a Steam game where you can create your own maps and mess around with character models and assets. Along with play other's maps and what not.
Eh. It's waned since there isn't much new content being released by Valve to expand the game often enough anymore. It's still a fun game to screw around in, but what's there now is what will always be there. Unless new stuff is manually added kinda like the MLP stuff or the other non-game related things.
Huh. Cool. Though that would explain some of the [PILLS!] stuff I've seen floating around on YouTube the past year or so. Just plain twisted.
