Yeah, I was also thinking that I'd like to work at the National Weather Service or some other public or private organization. Unfortunately, as awesome as it would be to work at the Storm Prediction Center, they're just so far away from where the rest of my family lives. It'd be a burden on them if I moved out to Oklahoma, but if that's where Meteorology takes me, then so be it. My focus is weather forecasting and communication, but when it comes to my favorite type of weather it's thunderstorms. Lightning it my favorite thing about them. I've never experienced a tornado in person, but I do want to go on a storm chase someday, either for research or just for fun. I have chased a couple strong to severe thunderstorms around where I used to live in New Jersey just so I could see some continuous cloud-to-ground lightning. I enjoyed it.

I couldn't help but notice that you have a tornado as your cutie mark. Then I check your profile and see that Meteorology is listed as one of your interests. I'm actually studying Meteorology right now. I can't pass up the opportunity to befriend a fellow severe weather fan. :grin:
