Well, they arent nessacaryly evil, Tremalion killed off the non-pony elements of his army the moment he took the throne and enslaved the rest (Ok, yea that sounds a bit evil), but, Tremalion is not from beyond Equestria, he was just banished.

Nevermind, forget what I said. Just try to find a way to involve your character, because we will need everypony at the final battle in order to defeat Tremalion, if I can't count on even one pony, Tremalion wins. Pain and simple.
