Exactly, we aren't set apart from other fandoms as much as we used to be.

On a slightly related note, is it just me or has Ponychan been subject to a similar fate? Every day that goes by, Ponychan seems to step back a bit closer to 4Chan. It used to be the happiest imageboard in the world, everybody was compassionate, discussions were productive and thoughtful, there was a pervasive sense of excitement and high spirits. Nowadays it seems more like just another receptacle for the trash that people can't seem to keep contained in their minds (ie. Ponychan is just a carbon-copy the incomprehensible, bottomless depths of 4Chan under the pretense of ponies). It's not that its members are outright mean or disrespectful, they just don't seem to care anymore. I fear that eventually Ponychan and 4Chan will become indistinguishable, but I may be overreacting, I hope I am.

I could go on forever about this, I'm just rambling. :p

The radio really kicked off the whole downward spiral, yeah. Once the brony community set its sights on EPR, it was like a shockwave got set off and affected the forum as well, like you said. My whole memory of those events is hazy (I have a lot going on in life right now, it's tough to manage my thoughts sometimes haha), but as I recall the forum ultimately increased in activity after a momentary halt, due to the sheer magnitude of activity on the radio. That's when I decided that I'd had enough. I'm a socially anxious guy to begin with, so a bombardment of juvenile Internet wackjobs is the last thing I need. We're all bronies here, and I will forever accept all of them as valid members of the community, but that doesn't mean I can interact with this particular subset of bronies freely and comfortably. Friendship is a powerful and meaningful thing, but it still has to be earned. Being a brony isn't a free pass to friendship.

I just came back here out of purely random curiosity a few days ago and was not really surprised to see that the changes that caused me to leave initially had only become more pronounced. I even entered the radio chatbox, and ohhhh boy, it was like Discord had found a new domain; pure unfathomable chaos. Nonetheless, I'm gonna try to be around a little bit more, if only to lurk 99% of the time haha.

I hear ya, this place has certainly "undergone some fundamental developments" so to speak.

In fact the real reason I've been absent from here is because as soon as the forum spiked into activity I found the quality of the discussions became... uh, we'll say "different". :p It became quite a task to sift through the constant flood of content just to locate something that I found worth responding to. XD So I left and focused my time on Youtube (which is going quite well, actually) and Twitter where things feel more controllable. It may be selfish and slightly unfair, but I don't blend well with the average internet denizens so I stay away from the most active communities/forums (and Ponychan).

Sorta maybe kinda. Sometimes I get a bit overwhelmed with forum interaction so I disappear for a while. How's it going with you?

Glad you like it! It was a real hit and miss approach which took a lot of refining, but I felt we needed to unite the various parts of the site and make it more apparent we're all one and the same, make it less disjointed and/or patchwork like but more of a professional or at least serious appearance.

You're forgiven and I really don't see an issue with the icons, but if you insist - feel free to whip up some more ;)
