4chan and Ponychan are nothing alike Though I only really hang out much on /media/ when I used to hang out there and since the creation of the MyLittleRemix forum, all the people who gave worthwhile feedback left for there so I stopped using it, it seems like that's much of the case for Ponychan, other sites have sprung up which serve a lot of their purposes better then Ponychan itself so most of the people who actually participate actively in the community have left. While ponychan may be a bit less productive now, it's nowhere near the level of troll and idiocy that is 4chan
At the end of the day, we both are free to say that, not only MLP-themed websites (be it forums, blogs, imagedumps, you name it) but the whole community and fandom of MLPFIM went from 'THE meme' to 'just a meme'. It blended with the rest of the memes, being trullzy and whatnot. The fact that the community seemed so nice at first sight made it standout... well, it doesn't stand out anymore.
Well, it overally all started with the radio to be ruined for me - With the radio the chat became dead, and with the radio the forum became everypony's second priority. First being the bloody radio. First thing i enter there is "Come back and I will range ban". The old chat had at least a bit of taste and charm in it.
I see. It has been quite strange how the first users seemed so... advanced in many fields, especially in intelligence and creativity. It seemed too much of a coincidence for me, thus i put a lot of hope in this community of MLPFIM. With the intelligence of the "back then community" came the overall great behavior with which we called ourselves "the nicest community". But, the once sweet taste this river of a forum was became just another sour flavor of the ocean that is the internet... What can you do? All good has to come to an end eventually. Only, i'd rather had it for this forum to withstand the pressure that is the trolling internet a little longer. We failed, obviously, seeing how even the community of MLPFIM is just another part of what is 4chan and memes.
Well, i am trying to get the whole "old crew" back together. The new users aren't as... "unique" and "interesting", i must say. So, it's always nice to see a familiar face among these hordes of strangers.
Honestly I wasn't sure if you were a bot. So I figured it was a bot with a backwards name. Turns out it wasn't a bot. lol The Hades is too non-bot like. :)
