High-five on the butt? That's what they are calling spankings nowadays? :P

I lost a cousin a few years ago and, believe me, it does get better over time. It may be tough for a while but hang in there. You'll always miss them but the pain does start to fade with time.

People always tell me I shouldn't blame myself but my relationship with her, I made a promise that I'd always be there to make her happy and to make her smile. You know how I feel now? I feel like a massive failure.

You shouldn't feel guilty for a decision that ultimately wasn't yours to make. It's unfortunate that she made the decision that she did but blaming yourself isn't right. You did everything you knew to do at the time.

I'm sure she would want you to move on too. Life goes on and we will always remember the friends and loved ones we've lost. They never leave us as long as they are in our hearts.

It's better to try and fail than it is to give up and never truly know. And if you succeed, so much the better.

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but you need to accept that it's not your job to help them.

Don't blame yourself. I know it's never easy to lose a friend. Especially under circumstances such as this. But that doesn't mean you should stop caring and trying. All you can do is all you can do. You may reach them and you may not. You wouldn't watch someone choke and not try to give them the Heimlich maneuver would you?
