He was curled around her, his curls dark against the white of the pillow. His hand had been resting on her arm, but slipped to his side as she sat up.
"I think that's good," she said quietly, pulling away only for a moment. "I miss you too much."
August's head jerked up and he opened his mouth in protest. "Eli..." "She deserves to know, don't you think?"

"I love you too," she replied, slipping into his lap slowly as she kissed him. "I love you too."
Eli interrupted. "If you're planning on staying permanently, you should know some stuff."
"Yeah. You."
He cradled her as they leaned back in the bed, pulling her close.
Her left hand cupped the side of his neck and the right hand cradled his jaw. "You're good enough," she murmured, kissing him.
"We're all best friends!"
She looked up at Zad. "Hey, kid."
"I love you too," he replied, rubbing her back.
"About?" she asked quietly, her face mere inches from his.
"Don't you want to go back?"
She stopped herself one inch from the ground.
He kissed her head, draping one arm over her shoulder.
She frowned for a moment before kissing him again. "You're good enough, Sam..."
He blinked as Eli sat down. "You are? Cause you've seemed kinda bummed lately."
She didn't let up, heading towards him.
