Due to recent events, we're trying something like this: I'm going to show you the backgrounds, The Mercenary and The Wanderer, and you vote based on what you think is best. No names will be mentioned in the background! For those of you who know which is which, please do not spread the knowledge. Please remember; I condone advertisement of this poll, please do not try and influence any votes. If a character voted into this position was nominated for other positions, they will be removed from the other positions. The Mercenary The mercenary grew up within the town, and also spent his lifetime within it. He lived a quick and simple young life, spending most of his time training himself physically, with goals of working for the royal Guard. With his hard work, he managed to achieve his dream job, which he followed until it became boring, repetitive and lacking in action. The mercenary eventually managed to come across a member in the guard who he became friendly with, friendly enough to give his true opinion on his thoughts of working for the Royal Guard. He had found just a member who agreed. The Guard suggested a new work-line to him, and although the pay can be differing, it is usually good, better than a guard's, anyway, which insists on beating something up or being a body guard, usually. This suggested job, was Mercenary work. He quickly contacted the guard and asked for more details, he got those details, and his first client. Since then, he took up the job and never looked back. Leaving the Guards and after that, he built up connections, picked up the ways of the trade quickly and explored around the region. The Wanderer He started off with his parents in a small town far away... and had many friends but they gradually moved on with their lives and left him. Eventually he decided that it was his time to find what his own calling was so he left his family home. As his quest for a calling continued on he has seen many cultures and many ways of thinking, and so he has grown an open minded way of thinking to go with his loyal, friendly and noble personality... and a small amount of stubbornness and arrogance but not enough to considered cocky. He has a distinct love of the beauties of the world, most of all butterflies and dragons, dragons are rad.
I did a quick skim over but generally, mercenary allows for the engagements/progression to be a lot easier on the writers without sacrificing quality, but if you really feel like putting a lot of work into it, Wanderer could work. Just know that I really like Drizz't.
Why is it that I look at these two characters and see difficulty levels associated with them. Like, if you took away "The" from it, these could be difficulty setting in some RPG or something like that. Not saying I dislike it, I just can't stop looking at them that way.
