    Hi!

I can open my topic of drawing, because if it's been a while I draw, I have a hard time advancing. I do not know if it's a limited talent, or lack of advice, so I try my luck here to view the artist's more qualified than me.

Small selection of what I have already done, I put my last works to progressively see what I can improve.

History still give you an idea of my progress, I put the following drawings in order of completion.

    My first.

It is from there that I have developed my style. Incidentally, this pony is called Blow Passion, one of my 3 OC that I love.:omg:

My drawing was the most successful (who knows why:angry:).

From there, I no longer have that pencil. As I could not be satisfied with my drawings, I preferred enchainer rather than wasting time coloring.

Obviously, I will not post everything that I've done here, I have a DA for those interested. => http://mekamaned.deviantart.com/

    New designs soon.

    I love your art :D
I'm not nearly as good at coloring as you are just yet, but I do know a few things that may help. c:
First, your style of shading the pony is very 3D but their hair/manes and tails don't quite match the style. I'd add more highlights and contrast to your hair, and don't focus so much on drawing each individual strand. Over all it looks very nice though. Here's a tutorial on hair that I love: http://darlingmionette.deviantart.com/art/Tutorial-How-To-Draw-Hair-1-173735335 Not specifically for ponies but those are universal things that are very very helpful. Break up the strands more and avoid textured brushes, they make the strands of hair too similar and perfect which is unnatural. Sizes vary. As for shading, don't shade just the edges, that makes it look flat, I believe DarlingMionette has some stuff on shading hair too.

Second, try to keep your style consistent throughout the drawing. I still struggle greatly with this myself, since I'll leave a drawing unfinished then come back to it feeling like shading a different way or something. But I say this mostly for your backgrounds and eyes. The eyes look a bit plastic, instead of using white highlights try to use a lighter color of the iris, and keep the colors very solid, NOT airbrushed. That will make it seem more wet like eyeballs are meant to be.

Third, anatomy. http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=455&u=16692734 This is an amazing perspective, and you did an AMAZING job, but the two back haunches appear too close together, despite the spacing in the hooves, as if she has no hips or is knock-kneed. You clearly have shading down but focus on giving the drawing itself dimension without shading, before you make it even more amazing.

Fourth, no copypasta or tracing. Copying an image to use for a background is usually a bad idea, the style of whatever the background is in will clash. This goes for adding accessories and items to the drawing as well. I'm not pointing fingers, drama is the last thing on my mind, it's just important to know, especially for consistency.

Finally, LESS IS MORE. Take it easy on effects, focus more on composition and you'll be able to make amazing artwork without any sort of detailed background just by using dynamics and shapes. I don't have any tutorials on composition at the moment, but I'm sure you can find one. c:

First of all, thank you for the comments it's always fun.

To quickly respond to this question:
In general, a pencil drawing takes me between one to three hoursand the coloration can be up to some ten hours.

Otherwise, I know I'm not bad, but I'm still not at the top level, just look on DA for realizing it.

Then, thank you my dear muted, your remarks interest me much.
You point the finger at one of my biggest problems: their hair. I've looked for tutorials to see how to change it, and the same conclusion resortait every time: I need a digitizing tablet! I awaits one (problems with the site of delivery ...), but I keep your remarks under the elbow and the site you gave me, which I find very good.

Plastic eyes? I had no one ever made this comment, and it interests me. I was rather proud of me so far, but if I can improve, I take all advice :). Well, I did not well understood your technical, so if you could expand a little more your thought, I'll be happy.

This is mainly why I put aside to concentrate the coloring on the ponies themselves.

Ha ha, yes I admit, the result is not great. But at the time, I was not feeling truly to make the stars one by one.

It is something that I must learn, that's what me is sorely lacking: the notion of composition :(.

And indeed, one of my latest designs is an attempt to solve this problem.

It is not finished, as you can imagine, but I hope to be on track.

Here, I made these really quick to show you what I'm trying to get at:

I used bits of a sketch I did for Jaded Embers as an OC idea, I hope it helps.
Basically with the eyes, I'm trying to show you color theory and natural colors to use, and the arches you use when choosing your saturations.
I absolutely suck at square eye shapes, forgive me. I ended up using the Jaded Embers' eye shapes I drew up. I'm so lame. xD
But still, I really hope it helps.

That is good to know all that you told me about the eyes, I'll have to test it soon. In passing you would not have other kind of tutorial for the reflections in the eyes? :)

Well in the meantime, I put aside my dragon for a small portrait. One thing I've always difficult to make, it's effects "Daww" or "Creepy". So here is the "Daww" tell me if it does or not.
