I though of something at work today regarding season 2. As you all know, we were promised two things this season: 1.) Another "big bad" - which we got in the form of Discord. 2.) A recurring villain (I'm pretty sure the writers said something about this a while ago) - which, if Discord had not have been defeated in RoH part 2, he could have been this. But it looks like that won't be happening. Here's my theory, and it has to do with episode 8. Entitled "The Msyterious Mare-do-well", I believe. First the description of the episode: "A masked pegasus is flying all over Ponyville trying to steal Rainbow Dash's thunder. Who is this mysterious Pegasus?" I might just be paraphrasing here. The main art of my theory is this: What if this mysterious pegasus is the "recurring villain" we were supposed to get this season? Remember, and again, Discord was this season's "Big Bad" (like Nightmare Moon last season) we got. If it turns out this pegasus isn't this season's recurring villain, who do you hope it turns out to be? All of my money on Trixie being the villain! PS: I hope mentioning this future episode in this fashion dosen't spoil too much for you all.
Much agreement here. Trixie doesn't get nearly enough love. And the pegasus seems to be a villain, probably of the bully variety; bullies are a good fit for the recurring villain niche. There's no reason this pegasus couldn't be the recurring villain, so why not? I like your idea ^^
I don't know, this doesn't sound much like classic villain material. The summary would read like it's Bob Falfa of American Graffiti looking for Rainbow Dash (in John Milner's role) to race her, weren't it for the episode title which in turn suggests a hero wannabe.
I don't care what Trixie turns out to be. I will love he all the same. I never heard of a reoccurring villain. Was this one EQD?
Gilda? yes, I would like to see Trixie too, but it doesn't make much sense really. Gilda dough, wanting take back on Rainbow Dash for choosing her friends over her(Gilda) makes more sense. Also, she could came masked as Pegasus (since she can fly)
I found Trixie to be interesting at least, idk, I felt Gilda didn't really fit in - she was too non-pony. Raise ya' hooves for a Trixie comeback!
I think the fanon has shown how much potential Trixie has. It would be really interesting to see the way they take her character in the show (I'm hoping she comes back). It also seems more likely to me for this reason too - Hasbro can sell toys of her - she can be marketable on the merchandise front.
They should bring Trixie back, after all she was one of the more popular villains, even though she made an appearance on one episode
Honestly, for the life of me, I don't remember where I heard this. I keep thinking that I heard we were supposed to get a recuring villain this season even before this one started.
It would be nice to see Trixie again and I wouldn't mind if Gilda made another appearance as I actually quite liked her... I am however, holding out for the mysterious masked pegasus to be Derpy... :derpe:
