Rashall sat atop a hill waiting for a Solar Nucleus to show up for a tour of the Shadowed Forest, he looked around wondering where the other pony could be.
Solar could see the silhouette of a pony atop the hill. No doubt that was the pony he was supposed to meet. He was still anxious about the entire thing. Of all the places, "Shadowed" Forest? When Solar's sister told him she set up a tour with an old friend of hers, he didn't expect a place so... shadowy. He sucked it up and approached the pony. "Hi there. Are you, um... Rashall?"
"Yes, I am," Solar said. He returned the gesture and shook hooves. "...but you can call me Solar. So, *ahem*, you're the pony my sister insisted I meet with. She thinks I should "get out more". I tell you though, I'd much rather keep to my studies than foal around in this... Shadowed Forest." Upon the words, Solar felt a shiver roll down his back. "So... shall we begin?"
"I think you'll wind up liking the forest just follow me and when we get to the forest don't stray from the road," says Rashall walking down the hill to the west.
Hours passed by and they finally reached the out skirts of the forest. The tree's loomed high up overhead their branches connecting at the top forming a semi permeable roof. "Remember what I told you earlier stick to the road and you will be alright there's a town no too far in that we can rest at," says Rashall walking into the forest.
After another hour and half of walking Solar and Rashall finally arrived at the town of New Halafax. The ponies, wolves, dragons and griffins of the town greeted Rashall warmly and made sure that Solar felt welcome as his friend. Rashall lead Solar to the White Stallion Inn and ordered a light meal for himself. "If you want anything just tell Whitemane to put it on my tab," says Rashall walking to a corner table.
Whitmane simply nods and brings Solar a glass of water and then goes back to his business. "This will be our first stop tomorrow I'll show you around town more, for now get some rest your rooms is upstairs third on on the left. See you tomorrow again if you need anything just ask Whitemane," says Rashall before leaving for his home.
Solar nodded, and said a quick thanks. "I'd better head up to my room before I fall asleep in this chair," he thought. Solar walked up the stairs and entered his room, not bothering to inspect the quarters at all. Instead he jumped on the bed and quickly fell into a deep sleep.
It was early morning when Rashall entered the Inn again. He walked upstairs and knocked on the door to Solar's room and then waited for him to answer.
It took several moments for Solar to fully awaken. He shook his head, approached the door, and opened it.
"Lets get some food in you and see if you feel a little better after that," says Rashall turning to head back downstairs.
Rashall orders up two sweetcakes for himself and Solar, "So then we'll be going around New Halafax today which is the name of the town we're in," he says.
"So then I presume we will be doing more walking?" Solar groaned. "Anyways, what's there to see here in New Halafax?" he said before talking a bite of his sweetcake.
