Delphinium brought his map back up, leaning it to the side to proportion it with his location. Before he could get a good look at it, he ran into a pole and grunted. Rubbing his head, Delphinium looked up and spied a sign that read "Train Station." What a coincidence! That's where he was headed! He dropped his map into his saddlebag and wandered into the bright red building. Inside, ponies scurried left and right, leaving employees with their hooves full and used. Delphinium caught one attempting to sneak off. Delphinium approached the worker and asked "Might I buy a ticket to Canterlot, please?" The worker sighed and said "Off to see the royal wedding, too? Trains to Canterlot are free for the next few days courtesy of Princess Celestia. Just hop on, the next one leaves in around twenty minutes." Delphinium was overjoyed about the freebie. Without wasting any time, he.hopped onto the respective train and was greeted with the chatter of ponies headed to Canterlot. A quick look about the car showed him it was full. He wandered into the next car to find that it, too, was full. The next three cars were full as well, and Delphinium was about to turn back when he saw a brown unicorn waving at him. "I have an open seat next to me!" He said eith a grin. Thankful, Delphinium sat next to the pony and prepared himself for the ride.
"YAAAAWN! Ah, what a nice sleep! Haven't had a rest like that in ages! Lets see what time it is- HOLY CELESTIA!" It can't be! I'm gonna be late for the train! I have to get there in time to get a good seat on the train, heck even just a seat! I rapidly get my mane decent, pack what I need, and bolted out of my house lickity-split. After a couple minutes, I'm relieved to see the train still in the station. I calmly get my ticket and board the train. Phew, glad that's over with. *Notices the crowd* "Now I just need a place to sit." I go through a couple cars, but no avail. There doesn't seem to be a seat anywhere! So much for going to a party before the royal wedding.
"Are you sure you're alright with doing some crowd control, Blade?" Princess Celestia said, walking down the castle halls with her top agent, Iron Blade. "Of course," Blade replied, "It'll be a nice change of pace, I suppose." "Alright. I'm going to need you to head down to the train station then and help keep the crowds of ponies from trampling each other." "Sounds easy enough. I'll be on my way, then." Blade then grabbed his helmet, walked out of the castle, and then made his way to the train station.
Dark flew over Canterlot, watching groups of guards march along the streets. Somewhere down there, her favorite and best captain, Shining Armor, was down there doing three things, organizing the troops on a more direct basis, keeping up the force feild around Canterlot, and getting ready for his big wedding. Dark rolled her eyes at the thought of the marriage, of course she didn't have anything against it, other than it would be removing her best captain from constant reliable duty. She sighed as she circled a tower, saluting Celestia who was watching the streets below through a telescope. "I hope nothing happens." She silently prayed as she landed at one of her observation posts, but with all this preperation, it felt almost better if something did happen.
Macro was walking on the huge road that lead into Canterlot, he had been walking all the way from Ponyville. He came up to the gate and notaced he knew one of the guards. "GoldenLookout." Macro said nodding towards the guard. The guards both looked at him and then let him pass, Macro shook his head as he entered the city. He trotted over to the cafe just out side the train station and sat down. He oredered a coffie and watched over to the train station for anypony he knew, he hadn't seen many ponys he use to know for a while now.
Dark Shine woke up and looked at the sun. He over slept. He zoomed out of his house from a window and flew towards Canterlot. Within a few minutes, he was there. He was hoping to get there early so he could check around and stuff before he went to help his sisters and dad at their shop. He remembered the needed stuff so walked around looking for any natural plants growing between the ground and other places he could get away with taking something.
"You may experience an odd sensation in a few moments! Don't panic; that's normal!" The train conductor's voice boomed throughout the car. Delphinium glanced out the window to see that they were headed directly towards a purple barrier. 'How strange...' he thought as they neared it. Upon passing through, Delphinium had to shut his eyes to block out the odd sensation flowing through his body. As quickly as the feeling had come, it was gone again. They had entered Canterlot. 'Strange indeed...'
Dark looked over the train station from its roof, so many ponies were coming in to witness the royal wedding, and why not, almost everything to get there was free and paid for. As Dark looked over the diembarking crowd below, she silently prayed that none of them would turn out to be a problem. The Guard was having enough 'fun' as it was with the threats to Canterlot, after the whole crowd disembarked, she had the guard's block the exits out, like always. She cleared her throat as she stepped closer to the edge of the roof as to be seen better by the crowd, her distintive Master Protector's helmet covering most of her head other than the face, "Citizens, as you may well have noticed, security inside Canterlot has been increased dramatically. Fear not, for we have everything under control, just go about your daily idles and enjoy your time in Canterlot." Dark said in a very authoritive voice to the crowd to insure they all heard. She knew these lines by heart, they where repeated to every new train load of ponies. "You may now carry on." The Guard's at the exits raised their spears as to let the crowd pass, and Dark just shook her head from the boredom and repeativeness of this.
While walking around, Dark Shine noticed a lot of Guard ponies. He decided to ask one of them, what was going on. He got no reply. He began getting suspicious so went to one of the places he knew had some ponies who would talk. The train station.
Dark was about to take off to go to her next station when she saw a familar face, What's the harm in some chatting, she thought as she flew towards Dark Shine. "Hey Dark Shine, what brings you here?" Dark asked as she got close to him and landed, whipping off her helmet.
Dark Shine looked up and saw Dark Light. "Oh hey Dark. I'm gathering plants for my sisters and my pa' before I get myself ready for the wedding. I'm at this point inpaticular because I want to know why there is so much security. Can you give me a heads up?"
Dark shook her head, "Not much, just a threat has been made on Canterlot for during the royal wedding. But you shouldn't have to worry about it, our eyes are open twenty-four seven." she told Dark Shine, she looked around a bit before saying, "Hey, mind if I come with? Organizing the defense has been exhausting and your my first true chance for a break."
"Alright, just give me one moment." Dark said before taking off and just a minute later speed back, no longer wearing her royal guard armor, "Ah, much more comfortable." Dark said as she landed nect to Dark Shine, "Now let's get started shall we?"
As Sidesplitter gets off the train, he notices the overload of guards here. Dang, must be an important wedding. Then again, of course it is. SS looks trough his bags. "Ugh, where's that list? Um, let see here- here it is! Ok 1.) Get a nice suit, 2)Get flowers, 3)Visit family, and lastly, 4)get to the wedding! Well I should be able to check of that last one! Now let's go!" SS puts up the checklist as he begins his short journey around Canterlot.
Dark Shine pointed to the direction of the centre of Canterlot. "I ordered my suit from a place called Elegance divine or something like that. Cant be too hard to find." He smiled as he started to head into the main square.
"Hm, where is that place? What was it called? Ellegance...something, I dunno. I guess I'll know when I- Oh there it is! Elegance divine! Eh, I was close." SS then trotted into the store, only to be greeted by a long line of waiting customers. "Wow, talk about last minute shopping. Guess I can wait."
Rashall had simply snuck into Canterlot, if you could call it sneaking that is. Many of the guards knew he was a visiting dignitary and knew not to mess with him, as the last guard to do so had been thrown out of a second story window but by sheer luck there had been a hay cart outside that he fell into. He was not alone though two others followed him through the shadows one was a warrior pony dressed in emerald green armor, the other had a shifting cloak about him that made him hard to see. These two where friends of Rashall the one in green was known as Emerald Star who was an Exarch of the Striking Shadows temple of the famed Striking Scorpions aspect shrine. The Striking Scorpions exelled in hit and run tactics and where very hard to see, the other was her brother Rhinestar who was a pathfinder or as others called him an outcast. Together the three entered Canterlot barley making so much as a whisper.
Iron Blade stood by the train station, watching the ponies offload from the trains. The job was rather boring, but he didn't mind. 'I'm pretty sure the guards that were already here can handle all this. Maybe I can go see if there's something better I can do... No, Blade. Stay at your post!' He thought to himself.
Orangebolt woke up and went to check off the last day on the calender. "Oh, royal wedding's today. I better get going." Said Orange as he put on his formal attire. "I'll just get breakfast over at Canterlot I suppose." He flew off to Canterlot, noticing the increase of guards. He landed in the shortest line to get into the city.
