I've decided to join! Hello there! I'm ePONYmous. Ha ha! Get it? e-PONY-mous instead of just 'eponymous.' *Ahem* Anyway... A little bit about myself; I'm a 25 year-old male studying Meteorology (science of weather). Saying I like thunderstorms would be an understatement as I usually make an effort to go outside and enjoy them (not recommended). I've chased a couple of storms, but nothing too spectacular considering I don't live in a region that gets that many storms worthy of chasing. If only I had the ability to control the weather like Rainbow Dash. Wait, no, that wouldn't be good, because I'd probably go all Nightmare Moon-style with something like, "The storms... will last... FOREVER!" Heh. As for how I found out about MLP:FIM, it wasn't anything too unique. I just noticed on websites I visited an increase in pony images, and eventually saw a thread on a forum I used to visit about the show. I saw users post things like "So you're a brony now?" and "Welcome to the herd." I didn't quite understand, so I did some research into it and realized that there were guys, including those around my age, watching the show. At first I was incredulous, but I decided to give it a chance. I figured I'd watch an episode or two and never think of it again. Boy was I wrong! After watching a few episodes, I was hooked and wanted more. I couldn't believe it. Actually, I still can't believe it. So I proceeded to watch the entire first season. At some point I decided to google some pony-related words to see what I'd get, and when I googled "everypony" this website came up and then I found EPR. I didn't realize how much fan-made music there is. It's just incredible. I've been listening in for about two or three weeks now and finally decided that I'll register. I've also read some fan-made comics. I've only read one fan-fic so far, but only because many were saying not to read it. I'm sure you know which one I'm talking about. I'll just leave it at that. Well, I guess that about wraps up my introduction. I hope it wasn't too long. I don't know what I'll be able to contribute yet. I don't particularly have a knack for things like music, art or writing. I guess we'll see what happens. Until then, I'll be around, hopefully adding some useful discussions and getting to know some of you better.

Hey there. I know I've seen you in the stream chat. You're pretty good with those video links I've noticed. My boyfriend actually went to college for Meteorology as well. 8 years, ouch. And it seems hard. He told me it's one of the harder things you could study. As for thunderstorms and such, oh heck yes. I absolutely love storms. I can also be found standing or sitting outside enjoying them sometimes. I just love that great element they bring into the air. That tranquility of the rain coming down. The awesome power of a thunderstorm. I've wanted to stormchase as well. Though it seems scary and I'm sure I'd be a little on the cautious side, I think it'd be a great thrill too. And hah, I think that's how it is for many people when it comes to how they discovered the pony phenomena. But it certainly has a big way of pulling almost anyone who watches it into it's strong clutches. And yes, there is A LOT of fan-made material out there. It's staggering. Arts, music, just anything and everything almost. So much creativity in our community, its great. As for the fan fic, heh heh... yeah, I know the one you mean. lol That's an easy one. I'm still surprised it got to be just so infamous. But anyway, yeah, I'm rambling on. lol Sorry. Welcome to our little corner of the internet here. Don't worry about being particularly good with music or art, that's fine. Though maybe this new community will be just the inspiration you need to get into a creative hobby such as them. Thank you everypony for such a warm welcome. It's much appreciated! Yes, Meteorology is definitely not an easy major. I didn't realize how math-intensive it would be. Don't get me wrong, I knew there'd be mathematics involved, and math and science are typically my best subjects, but some of the vector calculus and differential equations involved can be quite difficult. There were times when I even doubted my own abilities because of how intense the math was. I prefer qualitative analysis over quantitative any day. It's easier for me to understand a process conceptually than it is mathematically, at least most of the time. Although the math is undoubtedly useful too. I totally agree with your view on storms. I love the power and energy they have. It's quite humbling at times. Lightning is my favorite thing about them. I love it when a storm exhibits continuous lightning bolts. I haven't seen a tornado in person yet though, which is okay for now. I hope to one day actually go on a real storm chase for tornadoes, but I don't have the funds or time to do it now. The only storms I've chased were some storms that happened to be good lightning producers. Heh heh heh. Why thank you. I didn't see many Spike avatars around, so I figured I'd give Twilight's #1 assistant his due. I thought Evil Spike was pretty badass. Yeah, that would be great if that could be done. If I could control the weather, I'd send some rain your way... *Pinkie Pie Voice* FOREVERRRRR. Haha, kidding, of course. If I really did have that ability, I probably would use it for good, despite the desire for a perpetual thunderstorm. Once again, thank you all for the warm welcome!
