So yeah, tell us about your opinions about booze, drugs and smoking. I use alcohol whenever I can get my hands on some, a normal amount for me would be 0,5 litres of 40% stuff, vodka or Koskenkorva. Sometimes more if the situation requires it. All nicotine products suck, been a smoker for 2 years but quitted. Wouldn't recommend that stuff to anyone.
I was actually refering to your extensive use of foul language. You need to learn to curse like a pony.
Pretty much everyone already knows my stance on alcohol lol. And cursing. I don't smoke anything and I don't want to. I come from a family of smokers and I hate the stuff. Doesn't help that my roommate took up weed too. Chances are I'll report him to the cops as soon as I move out. Also, caffeine master race
I don't smoke or take drugs, waste of money and it destroys your life if you ask me, I think the most alcohol I've ever consumed was at my Sisters 21st .....about....half a champagne glass of champagne for the toast. You can take drugs if you want to though. My experience with the stuff was that class mates were smoking weed and were high in class, causing constant disruptions in class, I reported them to the police, one got caught, I was the snitch of the school for about a week then everything got better. I was actually able to concentrate.
The only drugs I've ever taken have been Ibuprofen, but that was because I'm a runner and shin splints tend to be a brutal mistress.
I'm very sensitive to anything, caffeine / alcohol / whatever. I rarely take any of them. I have ADD, and I do take a very small dose of ritalin to help me focuss on school; 5mg three times a day. It's weird stuff, gets me a little high sometimes. But I think it helps to a degree.
Drugs are poop and alcohol tastes like stuff used in a car or to clean old NES cartridges. I don't do any of either one. I don't do coffee either. I like the smell, but it always makes my skin feel gross.
In my opinion, as a PG forum, this topic of conversation could very easy become inappropriate for these boards. That said, I'll put in my two cents, as long as it's here. I won't go into detail because this isn't really a place I'd like to discuss this stuff, but speaking from experience... alcohol and drugs - while they can be fun at times - can also be really horrible. And in the end, all you realize is how much time and money you could have spent doing other things. Provided you make it out without a permenant addiction, doing a stint in jail or overdosing, which unfortunately I've seen happen to quite a few people I used to know. And before you get the wrong idea, I've never done coke, crack, meth or heroin. They're scummy and will ruin your life, period. A kid that used to be my best friend in the whole world is now in jail because of heroin. Nuff said. Alcohol is just as bad, probably worse because people don't have the same negative stigma about it that they do for hard drugs. It's all fun and games and party time til you get to know what it feels like for your body to try to puke your own intestines out. Or get alcohol poisoning. That's always fun. Not to mention that cops typically will show up sooner or later if you're drinking often enough. And of course, nicotine. I've been addicted to nicotine for the last 6 years or so. I've tried to quit several times, and am currently trying again. It's a horrible addiction, and it will kill you eventually. Not to mention that spending $5 every single day on nicotine products (maybe more, depends on your state) is a lot of disposable income that could be spend on well, anything else. And here's the kicker. Once you get addicted (which happens much, much faster than you realize) you will NEVER stop craving it. Even after twenty years of staying off it, you will still get cravings. Weed...I'm ok with it. There is nothing wrong with it, except for the fact that it is illegal. So if it isn't illegal in your state, then hey, whatever. The only thing you gotta watch out for, is that if you do it habitually and hang out with other stoners a lot, sooner or later other drugs are going to show up. I used to laugh about the whole "pot is a gateway drug" thing, but if it wasn't for weed, I probably would not have ended up getting introduced to even a quarter of all the other things I ended up trying. So my advice is, stay away from it all. In the end, it's just not worth it. Except maybe caffeine...it's highly addictive too, but they put it in practically everything, so it's kinda hard to avoid. And of course a glass or wine or a beer on a special occasion or with a meal here or there won't kill you either. Just aim for moderation, pay attention to how much you're drinking and ask yourself, "am I drinking too much/too often?" Because a beer every night after work and a few on the weekends with friends can become straight up alcoholism before you know it. That's exactly how my one friend became an alcoholic. Now he spends all of his money on beer and all of his time drinking instead of being with his infant daughter. Honestly...I'm uncomfortable talking about this, especially here with you guys, because I'd rather you didn't think any less of me because of it. But, I figured I'd add in my two cents...as someone who has been there and done that. Unfortunately, most people have to learn the hard way, so nothing I say is going to deter anyone who is determined to drink or do drugs, all I'm saying is...think about it a bit. It isn't worth it, and it is not going to help you get anywhere good in life. This I promise you. P.S. - I don't condone doing drugs period: But if you are determined to do something stupid, for the love of all that is holy, be smart about it. Do your research first, sites like erowid are useful. A couple milligrams difference in dosage could mean the difference between a good time and a really bad one. And, although it is rare, sometimes people will give you or sell you what they say is one thing, but is really another. Knowledge is power, keep yourself safe.
I can't get drunk. I've tried. My body processes alcohol so fast that no matter how much I drink, my brain and motor functions are uneffected by it. I've imbided dangerous amounts of alcohol on multiple occasions, and have never felt any ill effects, other then a small headache the next day. However, for most people, drinking heavily is both dangerous AND stupid.
I can honestly say i've had a few drinks during the last few years, but hey, only at parties right? My family used to be smokers, untill a few years ago when my grandpa got a heartattack because of it (causing everyone to stop, yay?). But doing drugs and smoking? never. Sure, i've been offered it, but as the good guy I am, I've refused everytime. I've never disliked people that's been smoking/doing drugs, I've just never understood why people choose to waste time and money getting a bad health/addiction. But for all i care:
