Do not read if you haven't seen magical mystery cure, it could spoil it. Spoiler Look, first lets understand a little bit about the the carachrters. You've probably noticed that there were 2 unicorns, 2 pegasisters, and 2 earth ponies. But did you consider that one of each does what that race of ponies was ment to do? Twilight uses magic, RD controls the weather, and AJ farms. So If twilight is an alicorn... that messes up the whole dynamics of the group in multiple ways.
So essentially, since that ratio of races of the mane 6 is no longer 2:2:2, the whole group dynamic is wrong and Twilight will no longer focus on casting and learning magic? She's still going to be there filling the niche for magic use. Even if she wasn't, Rarity could still fill it.
Welcome to the Internet, where everything HAS to be a controversy. These are the same people who get mad because SOUTH PARK did something offensive
Alicorn rage? Sorry, you're a few months late to the party. Most people have already moved on by now.
Actually, no one has "moved on", everybody hated the episode, but we just figured that Season 4 will either rock or suck. It all depends on how much more stereotypes they add. Despite my love of the show and fandom. After the Season 3 premiere, I got more and more skeptical with each episode. Now, I've lost the vast majority of faith in the writers. Though I will admit the. 2:2:2 ratio argument is the stupidest anti-alicorn argument I've heard. The reason it sucks is because there is literally NOWHERE to go without gaping plot holes. Heck, they've already said that Twilight has a castle but she prefers to stay in Ponyville. So basically she ditches her responsibility
I wouldn't say MMC was "hated." Admittedly, it wasn't the best episode, but I remember it getting mostly positive reviews. Also, Season Three was good! Am I really the only Sombra fan around here?
It was "Keep calm and flutter on" that made me hate season 3 It felt like Darth Mauls death scene. A single act that ruins a perfectly good villain Before that episode, Discord just wanted to watch the world burn, and then goes down when Fluttershy says he's not his friend. Similar to how Darth Maul died because he wasn't fast enough to counter Obi Wans VERY SLOW attack, despite us seeing Darth Maul jump all over the Effin' place like he had caffeine rush
Don't get me started on ruined villains... I'm still furious about how Bones ended the Pelant arc. Still, I don't think Discord was ruined. If anything, an alignment shift gives the writers the opportunity to further develop the character. (It also gives me the opportunity to use him as a protagonist in my RPs.)
I love that people still whine about this. Let the season freaking start, then b**** about it if it's bad then. Poor story progression this, doesn't make sense that. Just stop already.
^^ teehee Anyway, a few months late to the party indeed. I think most of us who were on that side of the aisle have already exhausted all our twilicorn rage by now. And...There were many reasons people disliked Twilicorn, but I think the actual reason is that is was just so perfectly cliche, the perfect climax to a princess fantasy story - yet in direct contrast to the anti-cliche, barrier breaking show that we became infatuated with in the beginning. Now we're all holding our breath to see whether or not the writers can bring it back. And so we wait.
I like Twilicorn. I guess I'm one of the few people who realized that it was inevitable, and was therefore unsurprised.
Ok so maybe this isn't the biggest reason... But this personally messes up the whole group in my mind. I've always liked how equal the groups where
Twilight breaks one group to compete another. She is like the opposite of cadence. She's the princess of friendship style love and all that jazz.
Right, because those are all so important to the show. It's not like the personalities of the mane 6 matter at all {And we do know that Twilight's personality hasn't changed from this}. Nope, it's just the "2 of each race" thing that's important I guess. The personality dynamic is still going to be there, and we already also know that Twilight isn't going to treat her friend's like peasants, especially since she actually thanks them for helping her get to this point of her life. Seriously, why do really small things like the race balance matter so much? I don't understand this. When I first heard about this change, I had 3 primary worries: *Twilight outliving her friends. *Twilight's personality changing as a result of this. *Twilight leaving her friends because of her new responsibility. Guess what? All 3 of those were confirmed by the writers to NOT happen, and for all the negative things I might say about EQG it did prove that Twilight's personality is still the same as it always has been. I really want to know what's so bad about Twilight gaining a pair of wings and becoming a princess after these 3 things were tossed out the window, because I don't see what's so bad about it anymore. Seriously, how badly 75% of the fanbase reacted to Alicorn Twilight {Including sending death threats to the show's Staff just because of this and EQG, which is totally the mature thing to do} is why I don't like the Brony Fanbase all that much anymore. Who would think that simply making Twilight a princess would cause everyone to flip out like this?
I figured that she would become a alicorn eventually I just wasn't expecting it to happen until the final episode of the show.
