JOHN CENA Alright, in all seriousness, I'm Ignatius, and I'm on a mission. Ever since I disclosed to my family that I was a brony I've been met with nothing but criticism. Being a guy, that's very well expected, but the comebacks were weak at best. So I am taking it upon myself to write an argument, a defense, of the brony culture and phenomenon. I've been hopping from forum to forum looking for tales of spirit and triumph in the brony community, and to prove once and for all, whether being a brony is wrong or right. If you've read this far, then you just might be the person I'm looking for to help me. As I further my research into the matter I will be needing people to help answer questions, write testamonies, and even give opinions! Hopefully, I'll be able to write all my research into a script, and create a video for it. I don't care how long it takes, I will work to the very end! With that said, I'm a long time brony and self taught artist. I am currently studying philosophy, psychology, linguistics, and 2D animation. I live in Columbus OH. (USA) and I have a passion for eating. I also love music and music theory.
Hello, and welcome to Everypony. By the way, there have already been a few Brony documentaries that I know of, one of which was done by Claire Corlett, the voice of Sweetie Belle.
I am fully aware, but they never discuss the moral integrity of the fanbase, they just gloss over what bronies are and what the fandom is like. What I'm trying to do is find the truth of whether it's okay for older men to watch mlp or not.
Moral integrity? That's gonna be a hard argument to make. It seems like half the bronies out there are goddamn degenerates. As for whether or not it's okay, of course it is. Lauren Faust herself said that she created the show to appeal to everyone.
Moral integrity is by no means a hard arguement. To be fair, just because Lauren Faust said it was okay, doesn't mean its okay. At least, it is a lousy argument.
Hello there, welcome to everypony! Of cource it is OK for men to watch MLP, the real question is why wouldn't it be ok, who are they doing harm?
Alright, so tell me why its okay, give me an argument. It's sort of like that, I want to find the truth behind it, because I am still not sure of it myself. And I'm sure others out there that feel the same way.
Welcome to the site mate, thanks for the visit, I hope you decide to stick around after you've gotten what you need. Speaking of which we have a section for these kinds of things called "Serious Discussion" I look forward to reading your post on the topic there.
Welcome to Everypony. While Serious discussion is a good place for the topic at hand, Forum Games is a good place to get to know the other people here.
And the answer is simple, if being a fan of a TV show is wrong, then a frog wouldn't bump his ass when he hopped.
Hello and Welcome to this forum. Please enjoy your stay here. Try to keep up with the show too if you can. P.S.: I live in Ohio too.
It don't matter how old you are to like things, just be yourself! Don't listen to what other people say about you.
You guys are definitely very supportive, but here's the deal: I come from a conservative, moral based catholic background. This basically ensures that everything I do that's not normal is questioned. Therefore, I am working to put together a defence for it.
Morally, watching a show that teaches basic values is something that many adults who tend to forget them can benefit from. Seems to me like it's more or less a secular means of reinforcing many Christian ideals.
Proving moral integrity would require some objective definition of morality. Considering we as a species have yet to come to a unanimous decision on that, this might be a difficult argument to make. Regardless, welcome to the forum!
