The teenage mare looked at them all, her mane covering one eye. "You've all done very well this month," she said calmly, "But in order to be scavengers, you each need to bring in at least twice as much if possible. Winter is coming, and the vendors don't come out then. Work in teams if you need to, but, please..." she said, glancing at her little sister, shivering slightly. Reyna placed her coat over the filly's frail shoulderblades, and tucked a strand of the small mare's hair behind her ear affectionately. "The younger ones population is growing. They need to eat." She looked at the ponies in front of her. "If you find any orphans, please remember, inform them about us." They nodded, and ran off into the night. (As of now, you may decide if you are already a part of the group, or going to be found by the scavengers..)
All that Summer had with her was her blanket, a makeshift pillow, a bag of items and a cardboard box to be used as bed as a bed. She had built a shelter inside of an abandoned alley way using a piece of metal supported by wooden legs. Her life sucked, but she was happy to some extent. It could have always been worse. The blanket around her was the only thing keeping her warm, and not freezing to death. She was about to go asleep until she heard the noise of conversation, something that kept her up all night sometimes. She held a map to another ‘oasis’ to the far north of Equestria, a trip she knew she cannot make. She had heard rumors that ponies like her had gathered together to the tundra’s of the north and built an entire home out of a small abandoned ski resort dating back to the turn of the century. If she could make the trip, her life would be better. However, she did not know if this place even existed, being only rumors. She would make the trip someday, she thought as she snuggled up into her blanket. She would finally have a family.
Black Rose slept in a abandon building, she under rags and boxes to keep her warm. She was quite skinny and didn't know what to really at that age, its been atleast a month since her passed away and she didn't like it in the building but it was acceptable to her. Rose opened her eyes for a split second yet to close them and fall back asleep, she no longer cared where she was she just didn't want to be alone anymore
Mika galloped through the alley ways, her hoofsteps making large splashes that sounded hollow to her ears. She almost tripped over a large box containing a pony. "Oh! Are you ok?" Teak snatched some lettuce from a stand stealthily, and then grabbed a few apples. "Hey! Stop!" a stallion cried. He leaped over a barrel, and ran down an alley. He turned into an old building and ran straight into a filly.
Rose immediately was awake and didn't exactly know what just happened but she was frightened. Rose stood up shakily and took a few steps back yet to fall back down
Teak pressed a hoof against her lips. "Shh!" he hushed. Hoofsteps ran by, and after a few minute, Teak removed his hoof, and studied the filly. "How old are you?"
Summer looked up at Mika and rubbed her eyes to adjust her eyes to the figure stand above her. "Sorry about that." The pegasus then focused on the question that the pony told her. "I'm alright, thanks for asking."
Teak studied her. as if deciding something. "Well, my name is Teak." he said, holding out a hoof. "I'm part of the Orphan's guild. We are all a bunch of orphans and runaways, and foster children. We live together, keep each other safe." Mika nodded, relieved. "OK." she said. She opened her eyes and stared at the pegasus. "My name's Mika."
Golden was sneaking through the alleyway. Her saddlebag full of books and an almost empty purse (10 bits were left out of the 100 she had at the start of the year). She wasn't paying attention as she bumped into a pony who seemed like another person like her next to another pony and a makeshift cardboard shelter. "Um, excuse me. You don't so happen to be homeless ponies like me? Names Golden Scale but you can call me Goldie."
Rose was prepared to follow the stranger she just met, if it had to do with friends she'd go anywhere
Summer looked at both of the ponies, unsure how she could respond but decided to ask one of the only questions on her mind to Teak. "Do you have a home somewhere where ponies like us can call a home, and create a family?"
(Guys, I have to apologize, I haven't started this very well.) Teak nodded. "It's what we're all about. We find people who need us. People who are alone. We bring them together." Mila smiled. "If you'll accept us, we can take you back to HQ."
Golden followed teak back to where the guild was. "it's good to have some back up and friends. So where's our sleeping quarters or is it just pick wherever."
