I don't want to hurt the brony fandom, with some dumb decisions I have made. So please vote for this video to stay up and be ammunition for our haters, or for me to set it to private, Forever. Sure there are also some really nice comments calling me their hero, balls of darkmatter etc. But I don't know if the negative rep from this is going to damage our reputation.
At the end of the day Setzer, you have to think from an outsiders point of view. If they see this video, what will they see? Will they see something worth their time? Something worth investigating or ignoring? Will someone who sees this be interested in learning more? Another thing to think about is how is it presented. Are you proud of it? Is it something you'd actively share, or do you have hesitations? At the end of the day, it's your choice. You can't ask us if you're damaging the community. Our community is built on friendship, support and kindness. We have a natural reaction to ensure that whether the video is good or not, you are supported to feel good about making it and trying your best to support our cause. I'd say a better community to judge would be one that's entirely neutral. One that doesn't have an active interest either way. Then they can say whether they think you've done what you've set out to do or not. The best of luck Setzer. No matter your choice, no one can fault you for trying.
You don't have the burden of having to represent the entire fandom. We're individuals, nothing you can do should affect how everyone else is perceived. Nobody with half a mind judges a fandom on an individual, just as they wouldn't judge an individual on a fandom. What you decide to do with that video is up to you. Personally, I'd take it down. There's no use keeping it up just because you're getting small amount of positive comments. This is YouTube, land of the 12 year old. There's a lot of hate on that video. Don't let a need for attention get the better of your common sense.
I think you should remove the video. you are not hurting the fandom. Haters are gonna hate reguardless of the person in the video.
Instead of removing the video entirely, Setzer should just leave it on private, for himself and any friends that he may want to show it to. Disable comments, ratings, etc... and delete all the negative comments. (Assuming you have the time to.)
Why is that particular video so targeted by haters anyway? There are lots of pony presentations on youtube. By the way, gave a comment on the video. Bugs that I can't like it or downrate the trolls though.
Setzertrancer, your not by any chance hurting the fandom. People in this world just don't understand and don't see this like there is nothing wrong with it. It's just a cartoon. The Cartoon it's self isn't doing anything wrong but over two decades, it's painfully true that this series was meant for Women and Girls and the stereotypical individual will criticize the fact a male taking a like of the show but there is always a side of the story why this male enjoys the show. Maybe it's the characters? Maybe it's the story? Maybe it's the concept of a great idea put into action? Whatever the case is, really, you shouldn't feel the unsatisfaction of doing what you like and what to do to promote the show to the world on how you experience it. Just because someone told you that this make you like to use examples; Gay, or Sissy, Feminine or etc. Doesn't mean it's true. People Judge a person to early before seeing it for them selves as they get to know it or them a little more. For a story short, Your not hurting it. You keep on doing what you think is best and enjoy doing.
It was TARGETED because it was shown on 4Chan on /b/. Someone decided to troll it when he saw it. *Shrug* Your only hope is to ignore it, and make it private.
I really liked this video, and I think you were very brave with this presentation. I would have probably fainted in fear if I were in your position, as I have terrible stage fright. I don't see this video hurting the fandom in any way. Actually this presentation does show some valid points, and describes the show pretty nicely. However, its up to you if you want to keep the video public or private, and whether or not you want to take all the haters and trolls stupid comments.
If you REALLY can't ignore it, might as well set it to private, as much as it pains me to say this. Normally, I'd say fight back, but you seem inclined to let them get to you, so unless you decide it's not a lost cause, I'd say just set it to private, clean up the trolling, and after a bit (month perhaps) try setting it back to public. That should clear most of the hate.
Hey Setzertrancer, I know people might be saying hateful things to you, and I'm gonna let you finish, but that was one of the greatest videos of all time! Don't be afraid of the trolls, no matter what. Even the people who tell you to take it down because they say they're "legitimately concerned for you" are out of place. This stuff always dies down. Most of my friends don't even get mad when I sing the opening lyrics of Rebecca Black's "Friday" anymore, and that says something. Well, maybe it doesn't, but the point is that when you sit and think about it, there's nothing wrong. You made a video, some people didn't like it, but all the people that should matter did. I watched this thing when it first went up. It helped me come out as a Brony to my friends, and to entire classrooms of random strangers. You did a good thing. Now just let it ride out. Once again, you're going to be okay. My suggestion is to find something else to occupy your time.

well, I've checked stats on your video, and I have to say there's too many hits from 4 chan on your video, which would explain hate on your video. I suggest putting it on private until 4chan forgets about you.
The best thing to do in my opinion would be to put it on private for a few months. You can't un-list it because people still have it embedded on other pages. If you private it for a few months 4chan and somethingawful will forget about it completely. Keep in mind, one person can't represent and entire fandom.
