An Eager Introduction, and a Bit of Useful Information.

Well... Hello Everypony. Well, let's see, where to begin...

I guess one would normally start with an "I'm happy to be here", which I no doubt am, because I'd like to think this is the place I've been looking for for quite some time. However, for the most part, I'm feeling nothing but worry, for reasons I'll get to in a moment.

For starters, let me say I'm an avid roleplayer: been going for about 5 years at this point in time, and my experience has lead me through many different series that have piqued my interests, most of which have been video game related. I don't really want to bore you all with details, nor do I really like to toot my own horn here, but I'd like to think I'm very well versed in writing, and I can't wait to interact with more of you as time goes by.

I've been a Brony for about a year now, and am very involved in the fandom, but despite my love for roleplaying, I've only ever participated in a small roleplaying sub-forum on a non-roleplay-centric forum (And I know this isn't a rp-centric place either). I've met some awesome writers there, and I don't intend on completely leaving that place behind, but for awhile, I've craved to branch out into a larger community of writers, but not one that is too large to keep up with.

I've looked at multiple other roleplay forums, but most that I've seen are much more 'advanced', as in having boards for particular locations, monthly events in certain locations, and... Well, it's a bit overwhelming for someone who's mostly done one-on-one roleplays in the past, save a few.

But I'm really dodging my main point here... See, the one thing that has erased so many options for me, the reason why I'm so nervous to see how coming here turns out... Is canon characters. I've only ever played canon characters.

I could go on a whole tangent about why I only play canon characters, and I certainly have nothing against OCs, I just can't use them for the life of me. I suppose if anyone really is curious, I could share my perspective, but the basic gist is it's much, much, much easier for me to work with them. It's what's really depleted my options over the years, but it's one of the only ways I can really put my heart into a roleplay. I promise you, I do canon characters justice in most people's eyes, but again, I don't want to toot my own horn here.

That's also not to say I can't learn to be eased into OCs... But believe me when I've said many have tried. I'm just picky, and to me it's both a blessing and a curse.

I'm really sorry if I'm sounding a bit... I don't even know- with my introduction, but there's just one thing I really need to know, as I haven't really seen it addressed in the rules... Are canon characters allowed here? I'd be grateful for a response of some kind, and I'm sorry for seeming like a worry wart, but I'm being totally honest when I say you all look like a great bunch of people, and I can't wait to start things up, if you'll have me.

Thanks for the heads up and the clarification, Rashall! I really do appreciate it. To be honest, I find my introduction post a tad embarrassing, considering I originally posted it thinking this place was more RP-centric than it is. ^^' Nonetheless, the community here is swell and the roleplayers seem to have a overall solid reputation. So I guess I'll fit right in!
