You see, upon the introduction of iOS 4.1, we got the game center. Who didn't get those features in the update? iPhone 3G users. When iOS 4.2 came out, we got multitasking and homescreen wallpaper. Who didn't get those features in the update? iPhone 3G users. Now look at these screenshots: This is an iPhone 3G. It's running jailbroken iOS 4.2.1. This us not Whited00r or Redd00r or Red00r. All I did uas SSH a few files in (GameCenter's stuff), and adjust a plist in SpringBoard.app (N82AP.plist). And in case you're wondering, it works amazingly, thus proving my point.
Well then, I guess it's good I purchased the iPhone 3GS instead, as I have all of those features you speak of. I've had it since December 2009, and never ever had any problems with it. It still works as well as it did back then and I have no plans on getting a new one yet. ^_^
LUCKY!!! My sis got a 3GS (we got our iPhones from my mom's ex-boyfriend, who lives on the other side of the country, after his company switched to Android...), and updated to iOS 5.1... Like stated, iPhone 3G only goes up to iOS 4.2.1... And almost every freaking app I want needs 4.3 :ahh:
Lol @ greyone... I got a 3gs, also not going any further soon. My rule is never spending over like, 150$ in a phone, that implyed getting a dead iphone, now healthy again. And I'd avoid the 4, for it's lackluster speed. Also, 3gs users seen SIRI fall from the BETA's of IOS 5, luckily Jailbroken owners can get it, but now I am not jailbroken...
It's not the first time a company has sabotaged their own product to make a profit. Sennheiser apparently does it all the time.
Hmm. I got the Iphone 4G for $130 so luckily I won't have to worry about this. Though I wonder if they will do the same when the Iphone 5G ( Or whatever it will be called ) comes out. I can so imagine you doing something like that Bounty. Lol
So apparently since it has about 45 kb more RAM than the iPhone 3G, the second gen iPod touch got the game center...
