I've just come out of my course in my DSi's Art Academy, both semesters! The question is... did I do good? You be the judge! Introduction to pencil drawing in AA. Vince tells me this represents an apple, but it's hard to tell... can you see it? Paint training. Actually that's a pretty neat impression of dusk, if I say so myself! A tree! Uh er, the apples went a bit awry. Sorry. A pear A lime Tidal wave!! Turned out pretty decent. We also looked at watercolour here. Part 1 of the Second Semester: a lily. Vince's dog, Bacon. Ah, I seem to have made him look angrier than the photo suggested! Sorry!! Swan The grand finale: a landscape! So - what do you think?
These all are pretty neat, but to be fair, I'll have to say the colored ones should have some sharpness in them. Especially the Swan and the Landscape. My favorite one definitely is the Pear, the lime's good too, the apple's decent. I am surprised to see a Tidal wave in someone's gallery, you pulled it out greatly. Ok, some viewpoints: I like it that you don't over-line (just invented word from me (means add too much lines for shades)) your artworks, they have a couple of lines per edge and a lot of shades, but I'd suggest working with hard pencils to get more contrast in your drawings. To make them have this depth (5H Staedtler).
Hm, yes - looking at the final two, I do have to admit they're not so sharp. Still, nothing a little post-production can't fix! As for pencils, that is worth a try, although in fact I only really used a 2B for the underdrawings - something new I hadn't quite got the grip on. (or is that 2H? I've got a bad memory.) Thanks for the comment!
They look great, my friend. To be truthful, this may be a good reason for me to get a DSi. I especially like the tidal wave. It flows incredibly naturally and is quite pleasing to the eye.
I may sound stupid for this, but, do you mean the product DSi from Nintendo or...? Because that's the only DSi I know of. Also, it's nice. You seem to be good at this, and agreeing wih Jaret about sharpness.
