Ok guys, sorry to be an internet noob here. I've used a gif avatar before, (and it worked) but I can't get this particular one to work. I have the proper web adress, (And yes, it's moving when I go to the adress itself) but when I put it in and "Save changes" my avatar is a still snapshot of the first second of the gif. What am I doing wrong?
What did you upload it with? (Which image host?) Everypony's back end doesn't seem to like some image hosts. (That's the best I can phrase it as.) Try Photobucket. EDIT: That or Dropbox. Both of them have worked for gifs.
Also: Make sure gifs are already within our maximum pixel/avatar size limits for while vBulletin will resize them it'll break the animation while doing so. Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
Make sure not to post a vagillion GIFs in one post too XD They might slow down some people's computers. :[
So essentially, Summarizing the above: Criteria for gifs: Dimensions should be 230x230 Should be a CompuServ GIF Upload with PhotoBucket or DropBox.
^ This. The maximum avatar's dimension has to be 230x230 in order for it to work as a gif, if you try uploading a .gif that is higher than that, it will resize it and pretty much be non-animated. We either find our avatars randomly on the internet, make them ourselves, or crop them out of an even larger image.
