    This came across after going on other forums what it is are buttons above the reply thingamibob below which makes it easier for new and existing members to have coloured fonts and other things that you could only do by memorising the code or colour number. Below are two examples of what it could look like:

    I think you can just change all this in your profile settings.

    In fact, the screenshots you made are exactly what i'm looking at right now in my quick reply menu.

    Here's how to do get the message editor interface that is shown in your first picture:

    1) Click "Settings" in the top left corner of the screen

    2) Under "My Settings" on the left side of the screen, click "General Settings"

    3) Scroll down the page until you see the "Miscellaneous Options" section

    4) You should be able to edit the "Message Editor Interface". Click on "Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing" and save changes

    Sorry if those instructions insulted your intelligence, I wanted to make myself clear (which I'm not very good at).

    Thanks although I think the full WYSIWYG interface should be the default. It will make things easier for everyone.

    It's probably because some web browsers can't support the more advanced editors.

    I did put it as default, but it was a bit after you joined. Any new registrants will have this enabled by default since it's preferred by most people.

    Also, at the very bottom, there should be a section called "Posting Permissions." In the upper right hand corner of this section, it will say "BB Code is on/off." Just click on the "BB Code" portion, and it will bring up how to use various BB Codes. You can also find this list here: http://www.everypony.com/forums/misc.php?do=bbcode
