So, given how popular the thread I made about fandoms turned out, here's one about a similar topic: childhood memories.

And I bet good money that most people here grew up in the 80s.

    So:

which do you think is the best cartoon show from the 80s and why?

When I caught the older shows, TMNT was always a blast and I love how the characters have changed overtime.

Heh, I didn't know the Disney shows where 80's. I thought they were early 90's.

    While I enjoyed most of the shows on the list and many that would qualify as other (Jem, GIJoe, M.A.S.K.), Transformers will always be my Number 1. Although I admit the 80's cartoon doesn't live up to me memory the Marvel comics more than make up for the lackluster show. In all honestly none of the cartoons live up to my memories of them. ^^;

My first fandom, and one that I'm still a part of.
Somewhere, there exists a picture of four-year-old me in a Raphael costume, which I guess was my first cosplay.

Chip and Dale. I didn't grow up in the '80s though so I can't really put my vote for anything else except for Transformers.

Also, why isn't the original MLP cartoon an option? :p

I assume the topic starter thought we were mostly male. No Rainbowbrite, Carebears, Maple Town or Jem either.

The best TMNT incarnations in order from best to worst.

    - 80s
    - 2000s
    - Nick version
    - Live action movies
    - And the dreaded Michael Bay version

    You forgot Next Mutation.

Personally I liked the 2000 series best. And the Nick series seems like a nice blend of the first two.

It has nothing to do with gender, and everything to do with having only 10 options available for any poll (and that's why the tenth option is "other").

And the last time I put My Little Pony in one of this kind of lists, people kept yelling at me that I should have put Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings or Transformers instead, which is why I deliberately left My Little Pony out of this poll to please those people.

Hey I never said Transformers had to replace anything. I just thought it should have been included. See this is what I was saying in the Male Alicorn topic, people tend to misunderstand me when I state my opinions. Also while Lord of the Rings may have inspired a lot of fantasy series, I don't know if it has such a big following itself. Harry Potter is new enough that it's not really cornerstone material. While I personally think Transformers is bigger than MLP I don't think that means MLP isn't worthy of being a corner stone.

I only pointed it out because this is a MLP website. I just happened to find it funny.
