So, in an inverse of some previous polls, which do you think is the best comic book that's based on an existing property? EDIT: A little clarification... ...remember that word from two polls ago, "iconic"? How some pop culture characters would be more popular and better remembered than others? That's what I'm going for here, the iconic runs. Transformers, for example, had many runs in different publishers, but it was the 80s/early 90s run on Marvel Comics that helped establish it as a juggernaut franchise. Likewise with Star Wars: every single noteworthy comic in the Expanded Universe was published by Dark Horse comics.
Hard to say. That list is a list of hit and miss with irregular quality. Dark Horse and IDW seem to have amazing franchises...but their quality is half good, half very bad and shameful. Archie's Sonic tends to go the same way. SatAM was an amazing setting but sometimes I feel like they stumble and churn out months of filler gak for the sake of it. So I voted other. Because the Slave Labor Gargoyles run was amazing and showed exactly what we all missed because the network didn't understand Weisman's greater vision (Seriously, Bad Guys was an amazing spin off)..plus, you know, the countless Godzilla runs need mention too regardless of who they are with (they've been with just about everyone so far...)
Star Wars has been with Marvel, DC, and Darhorse, so like Godzilla they've been with a lot. Anyway I voted for Transformers. Of course that should be obvious.
