Does Guyver really count as a superhero? I mean When I think of Superhero's the Guyver never really crosses my mind. Action hero maybe, but superhero?

Neither of those movies are based on comic books.

My bad, I read it as non marvel/DC/other comic based films. Though looking at the list again that does seem dumb :derpe:

Technically, Watchmen was published by DC Comics but it doesn't incorporate the other DC Universes into itself, and it's frequently considered to be a complete standalone work, so I might cheat and say that one.

The 1990 TMNT movie is still one of my favorites.

The scene where Casey "accidentally" runs Shredder through a trash compactor in one of my favorite movie moments.

I always wondered why Casey wasn't in the second movie. I'm glad they brought him back for the third.

I'm inclined to agree with this. Watchmen is more so, really, just sponsored by DC, one could say, but really, it's its own thing. And until a movie comes out based on a horror comic, Rorschach is probably my favorite anti-hero in this subject of matters.

The thing is that Watchmen is not creator-owned. I know that because DC made "Before Watchmen" against Alan Moore's wishes. Ergo, since Watchmen is not creator-owned, it counts as a DC comic, and therefore the movie counts as a DC movie.

"Kick Ass" is there because, even though it was published by Marvel's Icon imprint, it's still creator-owned and therefore doesn't count as a Marvel comic.

And yes, The Guyver is a superhero. A guy in a suit of powered armor running around the city beating up villains is my definition of a superhero.

I think it's more of a Sci-fi. The aren't so much villains as they are invaders. At least if you know the original series.

So? Superheroes in superhero movies fight aliens all the time.

Superman fights General Zod. The Avengers fight the Chitauri. The Guardians of the Galaxy fight Ronan the Accuser, Korath the Pursuer and Nebula. Thor fights Malekith the Accursed and his Dark Elves. Hal Jordan fights Parallax. And let's not forget about Loki.

So yes, "The Guyver" is a superhero movie.

Wasn't Underdog a cartoon? Was it a comic too?

You are right, "Underdog" is a cartoon show and not a comic book.

This poll is about superhero movies BASED ON COMIC BOOKS, the quirk about it is that said comic books aren't DC or Marvel.

"Super", "Defendor" and "Underdog" ARE NOT COMIC BOOKS.

Well, there have been Underdog comic books, but the show might have come before the comic books even if the comics came before the movie. It's all very chicken-and-egg to me, so I don't see the point of being picky.

The show may have come first, but there were still several comic series made.

Wait, what's the plural of series? Is it series? Serieses? Serii?

    - - Auto Merge - -

Also, you forgot The Shadow and Spawn.

    - - Auto Merge - -

    And Hellboy.
