So, MorphinBrony already did the worst, so here are the best. Which is the best videogame based on an existing franchise and why?
I always liked the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers games, especially the movie-based one, because they fit well with the product. If we're talking about games based on a movie franchise, I give the top ones up to the Dark Forces/Jedi Outcast wing of Star Wars, just as how polished and good they were. Even though they didn't follow a certain movie, they expanded terrifically on the universe.
Goldeneye. Not only is it a great franchise based game, it's a great game full stop; it's still enjoyable, even by modern standards.
I forgot the awesome beat em ups based on movies/tv shows. Like Simpsons Arcade or Dungeons and Dragons or TMNT. But, that also reminds me of the most hilarious game based on franchise.... Well, it's not a franchise, but a celebrity. Shaq-Fu.
Marvel vs Capcom includes characters from the Marvel franchise, and those games are pretty neat. The Lord of the Rings: The War in the North was a pretty fun game, too. My favorite, however, is the Star Wars Battlefront series.
I like the Force Unleashed. It let me throw entire TIE fighters at Stormtroopers. It's a shame it's non-canon and that the sequel exists.
I'm kinda amazed the DuckTales game hasn't been brought up yet, though GoldenEye is good too. Hmm I'm kinda torn.
Oh yeah, that's right... "All Star Wars games are now non-canon"... Sucks because a lot of them fit in the timeline. Bah. Humbug. The Chip and Dale game on NES is good too.
I enjoy a Dragon Ball Z game from time to time, like the Budokai series, Budokai Tenkaichi 3, and Xenoverse.
