So apparently the east coast is getting hit with a blizzard tonight. And while that doesn't really bother me (aside from all the shoveling I'll have to do) the part that will bother me is this; cabin fever. With the loss of power, Internet, and probably transport, I will be stuck in doors with my whole family. All seven of us in this house... don't get me wrong I love them but... a whole day. In one building. *cringe* anyway... 6am rant is now over. Sorry bout that. So charge the computer before the storm and pray for the best. I'll be writting a story through the thing. Here's where the question comes in. What should I write about, any suggestions? Any requests? I know I'm new but I'm fairly confident in my writing ability.
Not much of a blizzard so far, I'm right here in NY and we got a couple of inches over the course of the day and now it's all quiet. But I already got the day off tomorrow and everything halted. Looks like all for nothing
The Midwestern U.S. has it too easy. We barely feel most storms or earthquakes; the worst that happens here are tornadoes and even our tornadoes are usually not as bad as the ones some of the other states get, although we had a bad one a little over a year ago. (Although I seem to recall my old Geology professor informing us that we're sitting near a sizable fault line, and it's just a matter of time before something gives.)
Write about how stupid everyone was for believing and flipping over yet again another overestimated and overblown storm. Or maybe that's just NY. NY is filled with stupid people. But seriously, forecasts are dumb.
That has led us to a lot of trouble during Sandy. A ton of people, myself included, ignored much of the Sandy forecast because we expected them to be blowing things out of proportion as usual. Then the storm came and it was as bad, if not worse, then forecasted. We could've certainly prepared better for it, if the government didn't cry wolf one too many times. The city also has trouble cleaning up snow because they don't really clean it, just push it aside. We're an advanced enough country where I think we can afford to install in some snow removal machines...
Right but hurricanes, tropical depressions and other gale force type storms are easier to detect and predict with actual decent accuracy because we've been studying them the most out of any form of weather phenomena for years. My point is purely with winter weather. It's always a shot in the dark. I'm not saying don't prepare but take a pinch of salt with your forecasts . Sent from my XT1080M using Tapatalk
