War, its presence is always felt, wether it is there or not. On the planet called Ciilonii by the Terreans, storm clouds gather. Two nations, new to inter-stellar travel, but determined to prove their worth, face off over the planet, with only a thin strip of land connecting the two. It is not a matter of when the war will happen, but when it will happen, and sooner looks a lot more likely than later... (I'll let y'all introduce your characters before bringin in the war)
"Private, this is the 5th time you have come to me about your LMG. Now all I'm going to say is FOR THE LOVE OF LUNA, STOP OVERHEATING AND JAMMING IT.". He calmed down for a second before handing the fixed gun to the private who seemed to have not flinched from his screaming. "Now, on your way and I'll be reporting you to your superior. Also next time you break it, you will be forking over the bits".
"So you're leaving then?" Shadow said as he put the remainder of his sniper away."Yes said to say. I hope we can still be friends," Strafer said looking at his long time friend Shadow."One last sparing match before were enemy's?" Shadow said redyeing his blade." Yes of course. Just know i will win this time" Strafer said as he grabed the sword of his back and attacked Shadow. After hours of battling the two friends waved goodbye as Strafer deserted the equestrians. "A draw as always." Shadow said as he collapsed from exhaustion.
Viceroy Janius Procariion sat at his desk, maps of Ciilonii laid out all around him. Already, he had managed to nearly doubled the garrison for Glorii Ciilonii, and had sent word to the colonist to be prepared for drafting into Glorii's first colonial military force. It was his job to watch over and protect all Gloriian possessions and interests in the Ciilonii system, with the ultimate goal of taking the entire system. He had tried many times to negotiate those 'Equestrians' out of the system, but they refuse to listen to White, Units, resources, protection, alliance, or any tried and true method of negotiation. Now he had a war on the horizon to prepare for, and all it took was a small spark at any moment to set it off. His Pip-sali's beeping woke him from his thoughts, he took one glance at the alert and groaned, colonists in the Imiiōpa(Isthmus) were arming themselves, and there reports of scattered attacks on both nations civilians. He motioned for his closest advisor to come closer. "Send a half-legion into the Imiiōpa, some troops should calm the civilians down, and while you're at it, send word to Gloria Renovatus that the war is probably only at most a couple weeks away." He told him. The assistant nodded and hurried out of the room, before picking up the phone, and dialing the leader of the Equestrian's in the planet, Prince Moon Shadow.
Crag was a tall, red stallion known by the marines under his command for being extreme, ruthless and would do anything to get the job done. "Private, bring up the map." He said as he walked into the bridge of the Comm Station he was stationed on. "Right away, sir!" As the private pressed some buttons on his control panel, a large, holographic map of the planet, Ciilonii came out of the projector in the middle of the room. "Zoom in the map to their side of the Isthmus. Coordinates, X: 568, Y: 347, Z: 158." Crag boomed as the technicians punched in the coordinates on the map. The map flattened, and revealed the Glory side of the Isthmus. This was the majority of his job. Booming orders and placing strategic points on the map, while he sometimes radioed orders to the ground forces. He rarely got to fight.
"Salut, Prince Shadow." Janius said into the phone after it finally was picked up. Although the viceroy had learned Equestrian in his time there (It was surprisingly like Vengian back on Terra), his accent was still heavily Glorian. "I was hoping to speak to you over recent matters in the Imiiōpa. Well, I have recieved word that some civilians are instigating attacks on both sides of the Line of Control. I must ask ut to put down the dissent on your side of the line, and Ii shall do the same." The Prince replied, "Very well Viceroy, I trust that you shall uphold your promise. No need to spark the powder keg as it is, I shall send some troops to put down the dissent in the Ithmus, and I fully expect the same from you. Hopefully all this tension will end soon so we can begin a more peaceful relationship." "Uos, that would be wiisomo, let us hope and pray that day comes soon. Denahso, Prince Shadow." "goodbye." After the connection died, Janius slumped back into his chair, knowing full and well that 'peaceful relationship' would never be able to exist as long as control of the system was divided." Janius' Pip-Sali beeped an alert, and he looked down to his wrist to see that an Tiberionus-Class Fronak Hiiton(Heavy Frigate) had entered the area, and Janius could only gulp, that was the third Fronak Hiiton this month, this one a Tiberionus class no less! That meant that King Julii Juliianos thought that this war would be serious, and if the leader of the Fourth Great Offensive thought that...
"Hmm, yes. All it needs is some more compression and they'll be perfect. Enough power to level a building with a single bullet...Or at least that's what I would be saying if compressing it any further didn't risk blowing up myself and half the city." Vegare mulled over to himself. His current bullet. The Boom-ball V5.2 was adequate for blowing up stuff. But didn't pack much more punch then a rocket launcher. If only he could compress atom's, then he would be able to create a bullet of planetary destruction. "Someday I'll figure it out." Being the genius he thought himself to be, he had already had the idea of using grenade's or rocket's to hold the explosives, But he reasoned that even if he we're able to fit all that explosion into them, they wouldn't go far enough to get him out of the blast radius. And it wouldn't do at all to blow something up and then be unable to see the debris. If only he could test his invention's out on some target's that were a bit more...alive...
Strafer made his way to the nearest glorian outpost. "Shadow my friend i am sorry i had to take this bout to the battlefield. I know the war isn't the best way to end our long rivalry, but it's the only way i can think of. I know in doing this i am gambling with my life the life you once saved." (Que flashback) Strafer is running from a group if theifs that killed his mother in a burglary. (He is 10. 3 years younger than shadow who is 13) As Strafer is running he slips, falls and begins to cry. "WHY. WHY WON'T ANYONE....." Strafer is cut off as some one says"Don't worry they won't hurt you" Shadow draws his sword and slays one of Strafers pursuers. The other get scared of Shadow and run off. "Hi i'm Shadow who might you be."I'm Straf....." Strafers memory was cut off as he reached the gloryian outpost'.
Mila was frustrated. People who heard of her wrath stepped out of her way as she walked down the hallway to her bunker. Her practice dummy broke, and it was the third one that month. SHe got to the bunker and placed her hand on the dummy making device. It scanned her strengths and weaknesses, and a new dummy was made. She grabbed it, and sprinted off to the training area.
Meanwhile in Gloria Renovatus “I hereby call this United Council meeting into order!" King Julii Juliianos Hadriionus said, banging the U.C. meeting gavel, the first Glorian leader to do so since the time of Emporer Casius Julii, well over 500 years ago. King Trajan smirked, "Aren't you a little proud over abdicating Emporer Cado Julii?" He asked sarcastically. Julii sighed and shook his head slowly, "Anyways, onto business! The United Council's 2000th year anniversary is fast approaching, and as the leader of the founding nation of this great Council, I would like to announce that Glory has plans to give a big present to the United Council in honor of its long life." "This better not be another thing like what happened at the end of the Second Civil war, Julii." King Ithacus of Vengia joked, soon followed by laughter. Julii's hand soon found its way to his face, "That was over a millennia and and a half ago, just drop the past already." Julii said seriously. "What, worried you'll be squashed like Septimii the Mad, Julii?" he retorted. Julii banged his gavel again, "ENOUGH!", followed quickly by silence in the hall, "Thank you, now, to business. As many of you know......
Hibiscus bucked the plow again, emitting an audible 'oof!' The plow stayed static and Hibiscus was shoved forward onto his face. Stupid dirt, he thought as he picked himself up. Stupid air, stupid ponies, stupid war, stupid- Hibiscus peered into the hole his face created and saw a little green sprout. He recoiled suddenly, but slowly came back in to inspect the plant. Hibiscus cradled the plant with his hoof, wondering what it was. It... it's a wheat sprout. He had only just planted some seeds, there was NO WAY the plants could have sprouted so quickly. Yet here this was, living proof growing right before his eyes. Stupid... decrepit... magnificent land!" Hibiscus picked up some dirt, laughing. "It's perfect!"
Brisk loved the new world. She trotted happily through the fields, her horn glowing all the while. Suddenly.. A farmer pony, a wheat sprout, "Magnificent!"
As Hibiscus laughed at the prosperous and fertile land of Ciilonii, he failed to notice the small crowd approaching him. He soon found himself surrounded by Glorians, who began pushing and shoving him around, and just roughing him up. The little bit of Glorian that Hibiscus had been able to learn in his time on Ciilonii allowed him to decipher some of what they were saying, including, "Go home Pony!" or "Filthy Equestria" and other words that were no doubt Glorian curses. HE found himself shoved to the ground and a gun to his face, "Prepare to die filth." one said in broken Equestrian. Then, a shot rang out, and Hibiscus saw as a bullet tore apart the head of the one about to shoot him, and more bullets and strange blue bolts struck down the rest as they tried to flee. As Hibiscus looked over, he could see a small squad of Glorian military squad approached him. They were obviously in some intense discussion over something called the 'Line of Control' but when they reached him they instantly quieted down. "Are you alright civilian?" The one who knew Equestrian asked, "Do you need any assistance? If you do, make it quick as we need to return to base ASAP."
"Open a channel to Canterlot Military Base." Crag was required to report his progress to the Equestrian Minister of Intelligence, Commander Insider, a former Equestrian Spy. "Nice to hear from you again Crag, glad the Glorians haven't blown your Comms Station out of orbit yet." The Minister joked. "Good to see you too sir, we have intercepted several transmissions from the Glorians, but they are encrypted, I've sent you a message containing the transmissions." Crag said, proud of his work. "Nice work, how are things going over there?" "Some fights between the citizens, but nothing too major, I'm afraid we might have to start mobilizing soon." "Ok, we'll get our decoders on the transmissions right away, keep up the good work. Insider, out."
Shadow walked back to the outpost after the desertion of Strafer. "Commander i regret to inform you that we have a deserter." Shadow said with a said look in his eyes. "Strafer has left and went to join the Glorians."
Crag suddenly recieved a call straight from the Prince down on the planet quickly after his call to Insider, "Crag, I need you to monitor the situation on our side of the Line of Control, I'm recieving reports of roving bands of Glorian citizens. Since well, they are trained citizens, and ours are not, they present a large danger to the stability of the area. I want you to track any Glorian you find and report them to the nearest base to that location. Prince Shadow out."
Brisk noticed a crowd of Glorians around a pony, the pony in the vision. She galloped over, quickly. "What's going on here? she asked in a panic
The Equestrian speaking Glorian raised a hand, "We were dispersing a rouge mob that crossed the Line of Control, it is a good thing we caught up when we did or this pony would have been dead. Now, seriously, if you need any assistance, make it quick, we don't want to be caught on this side of the Line..."
"Yes sir!" Crag shouted, right before the call ended. "Ok, new orders men. Prince Shadow wants us to monitor our side of the isthmus, groups of Glorian citizens have been reported there, our job is to track them down and report them to the base nearest to them." "Yes sir!" Responded the tech team on the bridge. By the end of the day, they had tracked down 13 Glorians, and had leads on 22 more.
Hibiscus was in a tiny black room. The walls were all stony, but the stone was so smooth it was as if someone had laid wallpaper over it. Hibiscus ran to a wall and slammed a hoof on it. The sound rang out throughout his cell, but the wall was undamaged. He called for help, but the only noise he could get out was metallic and ear-piercing. Panicking, he turned to the other wall, which he charged at and bucked. The resulting shock slipped through his body, causing him to fall over. He got up again and headbutt the next wall. The room became blurry. He shouted again, this time ringing out screams of horror and more guttural metallic noises. Hibiscus's vision faded to white and he fell for the floor... Hibiscus was slightly aware of some ponies around him. He peered up at his saviors, who were blurry and dirty looking. No, that was just him. Hibiscus slowly rose to his hooves and wiped the dirt off his face. Hibiscus was shaking badly, and standing was an extreme challenge for him. He looked to the pony who made the offer. "All I need... is cider. Lots and lots of cider. Thank you for..." he spotted the corpses sitting nearby and swallowed bile. "I think I'm going to go home now..."
