Wow someone just barely beat me to posting this on EQF.

Anyway ironic that my PMV is playing on the Radio now.

    Coincidences.

That was a rather entertaining, yet informative video. I even learned a little bit of something from it. Nice find, Setzer!

Which side of the Pony War are you on? Jeez, I just like the show. This isn't an ironic internet crusade for me.

Did you read my comment on KYM? "I am a Brony and yes my main reason is irony, then second that it is one of my top maybe 15 Shows i've ever seen in my life. I have been a fan of Know Your Meme on youtube since long before I became a Brony and I am quite happy with your take on it. I just don't think think there was all that much useful information. Anyway KYM Brohoof! back." Yeah I'm mostly into this for the irony. Irony leads to possible change in the world. As people start to question their misconception about things, such as pink being a girl only colour and cute and adorable being excluded from the straight male vocabulary. I also love to fight for the rights of minorities. I have been a part of a few, but never felt like I had any meaningful impact on them. I think I am at least being noticed to a small degree in this one.

I didn't like how they kept on describing it as a war, like we watch it to spite 4chan or something. We watch it because we love it, that's it.

I did like the ending though with Skrillex. I'm sure that'll draw in some pony curious people.

I am not sure if you are being serious.

    EDIT:
Exactly. I didn't know what 4Chan was until a couple weeks ago when someone on minecraft explained it to me.

Well I wasn't there for the chan wars or whatever it was. But the idea that certain websites like facebook and other KYM and Memebase at first would try to shut us down and delete us, show that it has been a bit of a war of us trying to be noticed as a legitimate meme. They finally had to admit ponies were more then just people trolling.

@Mane, I thought I made it clear. I like being able to embrace my feminine side. Sure it's more accepted now, but when I was in primary school I was bullied mercilessly for being a nerd and creatively inclined. Guys were supposed to be into cars and sports and nothing else. I have fought against this stereotype my whole life and nerds are winning, this My Little Pony is yet another step towards the gender lines not being so stereotypically defined. So yes I am dead serious, and this whole thing effects me emotionally on a deep level. The other thing is guys are suppose to have hearts of stone and not show any vulnerable emotions. I say to this "Never!"

A legitimate meme? More than just people trolling? *squee!*, and I thought enjoying a cartoon was a simple enough joy. I don't think anyone is going to take you seriously about any noble cause you may have (like helping minorities or whatever) when you put so much stock in stupidity like this. Put things in perspective, please. I'm sure the millions of people suffering throughout the world who won't ever have access to internet give two *squee!*s about your fighting for the meme legitimization of cartoon ponies in the eyes of do-nothings everywhere.

That's because most people are morons.

If I hadn't read other things you have said so far, I would be shocked to think that such polarized high-school stereotypes exist or are even cared about after high school, especially since most people you know - or don't know - grow up and out of such rigid lifestyles.

In the eyes of whom? Again, the people that care too much are losers striking out at others because of their own insecurities, and the people that don't care at all - don't care at all. I know your MLP crusade means a lot to you, but the extreme majority of people do not care whatsoever. They're worried about things like, I don't know, jobs, safety, education, civil rights, and such.

And I don't think that is surprising, either. Clearly you have been subject to a lot of trauma in your life regarding gender stereotypes, but what you're saying is akin to a bunch of hippies getting together and believing a drum circle will bring about world peace.

See, you put way too much stock in things like this. The rest of the world has grown up. You want to help minorities? Make a business and create jobs.

Okay Manehattenite, you make good point, my main reason for this whole thing, is about ego. There I said it. I have been trying to get some kind of online presence for years. Then after that it is the other reasons. I hope noone thinks any less of me for this. I am selfish and should probably care about more serious things that go on in the world, but it all just depresses me. I don't watch the news and all their doom and gloom, so that I can actually enjoy my life without having to be sad about every tragedy to happens to someone every 5 seconds somewhere on the Earth.

Nothing to be ashamed about. That's ambitious in your field.

Of course not. You have a cool blog. But most importantly, again, hardly anyone cares.

What? Nonsense! Life is exciting; there is always gloom. It is sad that you think retreating from the real world is your only avenue to enjoy your life. And it is good to be a bit selfish, doing things for yourself. It has gotten you your blog, right? And what about the common tragedies of life make you upset?

Aye, I'd like some recognition where I go. Sadly, I'm too much of a lazy little foal to do anything about it. We're all selfish, in our own ways. Bronies are just a hobby to me, hopefully guiding me to finding about what I'm good at.

I have not done any formal writing for over 8 years, ponies have made me rediscover this hobby after thinking my inability to ever finish a novel made me give up on it. But maybe I am good at writing shorter articles about my opinions on things even if they are wrong or misinformed, or coming from some kind of delusion. I just enjoy shouting my opinion out and having it commented on or acknowledged in some way. I am always open to change my opinion if new information is presented to me.

@Mane's question. It would take to long to explain what tragedy made me uninterested in the news, but lets just say I can't trust that any of it is true or unbiased. I am in a media career and I hope to find a way to make the whole process of the media to be more honest, I also have other classmates I have with the same opinion. But again I may be on a fools errand here, if so my career was wasted and entertainment value is more important to people then truth. It's my risk and at least I could still have the skills to make my own movies and documentaries. I do try to do things for the good of everyone for the most part. I do have my ego. But if ego was all it was I would just go and just make a parody of sneezing panda and have my million views. Or copy and repost some other popular video. I do apply certain ethics to my attempt to get noticed. If I cheat there is no satisfaction in it.

I have been kind of selfish in taking advantage of popular pony songs, with my PMVs but I don't deliberately look for ones with a lot of views, I look for ones that inspire me. Art first, fame second. You will also notice of you look at my subscriptions on my Youtube channel, that I support a hell of a lot of underdog channels. This is partially out of compassion, but it is also because if one of them gets famous with their legitimately awesome work, they could shout me out in the end.

Being supportive of already popular established channels, just leaves you ignored and under appreciated.

Of course it's not. Who said you have to be interested in the news (I assume you mean the media, not literally information)? I think most people who take the mainstream media with any degree of seriousness are unintelligent. They're designed to reinforce competing irrationalities in our culture.

If something is broken, and continually proves to be broken or straying from its stated or intended objectives but persists to exist unchanged, then it is far more likely that this something is achieving another objective that isn't being talked about.

    Sounds like it.

Not necessarily, you have some useful skills, but yes, -broken record- people are morons. It mostly isn't their fault, however.

Wouldn't go that far if I were you.

Not really. Most people with extreme ego complexes are egotistical about themselves and their own skills and would find little value in copying others. People with no sense of self or identify just parrot what they think people want; they want to be a shell of other people's opinions and expectations.
