Okay as a student of Film & Television I have come up with a great opportunity to spread the word of how loving and tolerant bronies are. I have a school assignment that involves creating a documentary about pretty much anything I want and I gotten the go ahead from my lecturer to make a documentary about Bronies. I will have to write a great and intriguing enough script to have it picked as a 3 minute feature from the rest of my classmates. Or if that fails it could be picked as a 1 minute feature. Or worst case scenario it will be rejected for production all together. This documentary will actually be aired to television in Australia and will give me an opportunity to defend bronies from the unfair treatment they have gotten from the media up until now.

I am currently in the brainstorming stage which will be followed next week by the actual scripting. So please anypony please help me make this a reality and give me your suggestions on how such a documentary should go. I hope I can do bronies justice the only documentaries I have seen so far have done a bad job and made us look like creeps whether made by bronies or some stupid *squee!* who thinks that just because she is a woman she has an opinion on male bronies. Here are some bad examples.

Apparently made by fellow bronies, I say yeah right.

This stupid mare thinks that just because she is an adult female that she has the right to pass judgement on Bronies and the Brony she chose to have on the show was way too passive. Also the the little girls were unnessary and she should have asked the complicated question about gender to the brony not the little girls.

These are the kind of disgustingly biased docos I have seen to inspire me to finally be the voice of the bronies. Please tell me what you want in a documentary from a hardcore brony perspective.

Even if my pitch for this documentary gets rejected by my lecturers. I have my own camera and I will make it on my own if nessecary.

Also I have to verbally pitch my idea to the lecturer in front of the class. But how about this.
How about I pitch the idea in front of the class with a slideshow presentation, just like those famous videos on Youtube and film it. You will get to see live the reaction from my classmates. I have considered just telling my class, yes I like ponies. But if I save if for the presentation it will be so much more fun and youtube worthy.

Well, when this gets done, we'll air it on the Radio for sure, if you let us do it.

Anyways, as a Brony I'd love to see you do some kind of comedic-scientific project, like analyze the show itself, and name why it is so good, why it appeals to us and stuff. Compare it to other TV shows, and note the demography on the show. Mention the community, since it is why this show is so brilliant. Mention the various projects "bronies" make, and so forth.

What Jaret said, basically. You should also point out how positive of a community the MLP fandom is and how broad and diverse the brony community is, particularly in age. The media has taken a slant that bronies are creepy 40 year pedos in training, when in actuality it is nothing like that. Just look here, we have everything from 14 to 40 years old and yet we still get along just fine. Just my opinion....

also I would suggest showing that bronies have regular lifes like everyone else, and that they do other stuff in life as well.

I kind of love the first video, just for the awkward moment at the end when they're like "FLUTTERSHY :D RAINBOW DASH!" o_o

Then out of nowhere one does an epic side flip. FOR NO REASON.
He should have just been right there going "Buck yeah..."

Ok buddy, here's the thing. The first video was ok, but it seemed to make us bronies look like MLP is just a guilty pleasure when it's actually the greatest thing to ever happen to TV that anypony can and should sit down together and enjoy. The second video was COMPLETE MALARKEY! That brony that was interviewed clearly wasn't one of the die-hard fanatics that we're talking about, and that lady was trying to degrade us, not build us up. I suggest that you not follow their mistakes and follow our advice. I recommend that you make bronies not look like grown, fat men brushing a doll in a 3-year-old's bedroom and make us look like just regular guys like you and me who all have been enlightened by the magic of friendship! You should be sure to explain to viewers why the fandom is so huge, and talk about what makes this show NOT your stereotypical cartoon made for 4-year-old girls. The jokes are solid, the characters are very unique and incredibly believable with human-like behavior and aren't obsessed with fashion or dudes, (Well, all of them into fashion anyway, Rarity is good.) and the writing is absolutely brilliant! I'm talking Pixar quality! Be sure to talk about the origins and growth of the brony culture. That's my advice, I hope it serves you well my friend. Best of luck!

I suggest that you compare it to the G3 pony franchise for reference.

Fricking mention me ;-;
Eh, it sounds like a good idea, and mention that it's not as horridly terrible and gender-targeted (aka girly) as the three previous generations.
I may, in fact, do this at school if I ever get the chance, but I'm taking foreign language and Junior Reserve Officer TwhateverTstoodfor Corps., so I doubt I'll be taking media classes anytime soon. Probably until 11th grade after I finish Spanish 3, if I do that good in Spanish.

Wow. Now I wish I never found that video. -_-;

I, personally, like this idea. I do so enjoy those videos. Besides, in case your idea does get rejected, this will allow you the opportunity to still provide factual information about bronies.

Other than that, I have nothing further to add at this time.

I didn't really see it that way when I saw it on another thread. She didn't really seem judgmental, but rather she didn't really describe much of anything and just kind of displayed us to the world to laugh at. :p

This I completely agree. I kinda doubt that he really WAS one in the first place.

These documentaries aren't helping people understand bronies. The first video said that bronies are violet, I feel I've become less violet after I started watching MLP. Plus I thought bronies were supposed to spread love and tolerance to all.

That one guy who started talking about twilight wasn't helping with the pedos in training stereotype.

Then the guy with the fanfic, he sounded all creepy about it.The fanfics I've read shipping or other are mostly well written and i like them. Some were good enough that I've got my own idea for one.

As for what you should include in a real brony documentary.
-The fandom
-The characters themselves
-compare to other cartoons (showing the fact that the mane 6 learn and develop over time)
-show the fact we live like normal people.
-compare to the crazy sports fan( people call them normal)

I one again state my total support for this enterprise.

If need be, I can provide random information, although it will most likely be irrelevant.

Also, I'm kinda sad that people are either with bronies or against them. I have met literaly only 1 person that's actualy bothered asking questions without the intent of hatin'
