Me and a couple others were talking about different topics and we eventually were talking about this. So, how long do you think this fandom will last until it is just a thing of the past? What is everypony's thoughts on this? *P.S: This is not a depressed thread, please just opinions only.*

Anyways, I like to post things in ten seconds flat, so that's why I just want to get to be one of the firsts and stuff. I want everyone's opinion on this thread. Like anything else, eventually it will fade with time, although c'mon...the show isn't even cancelled yet...
Eeyup, fun is awesome. :derpe: I know, it will probably last a couple more seasons. (Possibly Season 3[?]) Then maybe due to problems in production that it could possibly get cancelled and the fandom would go down.
if it does get canceled we'll just have to make it ourselves lol it will be brony made but really i do not enjoy thinking about this, i want it to be at least 5 seasons :S your going to jinx it for us all DRD
Ponies will last FOOOOOREVER! at least I hope so, I've never had this much creative motivation before. as I type this I am working on an awesome pony related project. STOP DISTRACTING ME DAMNNIT!
Such optimism! Yeah, sure, popularity will eventually decline, and the show will get cancelled, and people will forget it, just like Star Trek . . . Uh, OK, bad example. Star Wars, then! I kind of think the fans will keep this alive long after the show is gone, personally. We shall see. In the meantime, I'm gonna' enjoy it to pieces.
Well that's just it, Star Trek is not forgotten and is in our history books, I expect the same thing from MLPFiM. It may be cancelled one day but it will be a name that everyone pony or not will have in their brains. YAY OPTIMISM! oh wow I just realised this was my 901st post, woooo!
Sorry, me and a couple others were on this topic back a while ago and we were wondering what would happen in the end. You don't have to think about it, just continue your work/project. I just wanted to know everyone's opinions. Not anytime soon, but it will happen eventually. Probably after Season 3 or if they have some problem/difficulties in producing. Enjoy it while the fandom lasts. I hope it doesn't die down for a couple more years.
Last week i dreamed i was buying 5 seasons of FiM on dvd. I don't think of it as a dream, but as a vision. So there!
There's a difference between the show and the fandom. There's no telling how long the show will last, but I can guarentee the fandom will last much longer. I mean seriously, how many die hard fans of the original Star Trek series do we still have? These things die if you let them. To be honest, if this whole thing was anything less than a fad, it would have died months ago. This is a genuine bona fide fandom, and they don't 'die'.
