    as echo said, when you download it from dA, it's in pse format, witch is photoshop format. then in there you customize it.
    or gimp if you don't have photoshop

    You could always go the easy way and use Microsoft Word for adding text, then use Paint to add a picture. But using Microsoft Word, I believe you have to use "Draw Text-box", which leaves a random white box containing your text. Using paint, when you put a picture on it, the picture is blurry.

    Gimp is free to use but it's pretty limited when it comes to text... how customized are you thinking? Just the text and picture or some other things changed around, because I know a few other templates. c:
