Hey there, everypony: It's ePONY with another poll. Please read before voting! I was recently thinking of buying a brony shirt, and I've seen some other members around here contemplate the same choice. Before I do, though, I'd like to ask a question to those that already have brony shirts: What kind of reaction(s) have you received while wearing your brony shirt? I've provided five choices, which I think encompass all the possibilities. I know the choices seem trivial, but here's a brief description of each choice before you vote, as I'd like this poll to be as accurate as possible: Negative: You have received overall negative reactions while wearing your brony shirt. Positive: You have received overall positive reactions while wearing your brony shirt. Indifferent: You have received reactions, but no one seemed to care either way. Mixed: You have received a combination of either positive, negative and/or indifferent reactions. If you choose this option, please elaborate for us via a post, if you can. Nothing: You have received no reactions at all. I have seen posts scattered around the boards with pretty much all of these options occurring. Even if you have posted it somewhere else, by all means, please vote in this poll and, if you choose to do so, post it again in case somepony else here hasn't seen it yet. That is, if you want to, of course. The purpose of this thread is to allow those of you that have experience with wearing your brony shirt in public to share those experiences with us that do not have one yet. It's also to provide some statistical feedback via the poll. I want to thank anypony in advance that participates in this poll and/or discussion. ~ ePONYmous
Well, I knew this thread was going to happen sooner or later. Heh. I chose Mixed due to several reactions. -Father: Thinks I'm *Three letter word goes here.* (RD Colors/I <3 Derpy Shirts) I'd go with Negative -Mother: Good/Indifferent; Not like she cares. -Sister: Positive -Best Friend IRL (Likes MLP; Only seen up to Episode 7 atm.): Positive -Outside General Public: Not Tested Yet! So yeah... Mixed results. I might get some weird reactions from my classes/public, but guess what? Deal With It.
on my family the reactions were most indiferent (except my father that boubts about my sexuality), but on the streets people give some weird looks to me so... i guess its all mixed up :derpe:
Not sure if this will happen to everybody, but yeah. I got the same reaction. (Unless...someone elses father is also a brony too.) :derpe:
Someone called me "Pony Boy" and laughed at me and another person was interested in it. Not great......
Wife: Questions my masculinity. Chris: Doesn't Really Care. Boss: Told me it wasn't work appropriate, said he would fire me if I wore it again. John (Childhood Buddy): Absolutely loves it, Vinyl Scratch For the Win. He was the one that lent it to me for a day. Public: "*squee!*got, Pony*squee!*, Pedophile, Idiot." "Dude, I love MLP! Vinyl Scratch is the Best! Awesome shirt dude!" Overall: Mixed.
Nothing yet. Nothing from my folks, brother or public yet. The shirt I do have doesn't really provoke attention and honestly, I have to say I'm a tad disappointed.
Wow! Sorry about the negatives here. Your boss said he'd fire you? Geez. What is this world coming to? What shirt were you wearing, if I may ask? Also, I love how some people are so quickly to throw the word "*squee!*" around. Some people really have serious issues. Also, does your wife seriously or jokingly question your masculinity? Because she should be made aware that she has married one of the manliest of men around.
She's joking, of course. But she does find the show to be too girly for me. That's what she really means. I'm her man though. Nothing can change that. I was wearing this.
*Brohoof* WeLoveFine Woooo! I got the one with just Vinyl Scratch on it. So wait, you don't actually own it? or You borrowed it for a day?
@The Saikyo Brony, Why would you wear that? Don't you know that's totally inappropriate for work? [/sarcasm] Stupid boss. I'm guessing you work for some kind of Meteorology-related organization, right?
No, it's my friend's. His name is John, childhood friend of mine, and pretty much the only one I had through my life. Yeah, I borrowed it. I wanted to see the reaction of many people. Actually, no. I work at GameStop for now; I'm currently looking for a job in meteorology. I might just wait until I get my Masters to do that though. I'm pretty sure you know how bad the job stuff is. ESPECIALLY in Texas; it was a miracle getting a job at GAMESTOP. You know that when you can't get a job anywhere else, the economy is bad.
Well you should order a shirt from WeLoveFine if you like any of them. Also, I wanted to work at Gamestop. Well...as a basic job, until I actually can find a job in engineering. :derpe:
Wow, I'm surprised that they would say that at a GameStop, of all places. I know it's not gaming-related, but I wouldn't think something like a shirt with Vinyl Scratch on it would be considered "inappropriate" in a place like that. If that makes sense. Yes, I am aware of how difficult it is to find employment at this time. So I can relate to your predicament. I surely hope it gets better by the time I get my Bachelor's degree, but I wouldn't count on it.
Thing is, according to DA BAWS, it makes the store look "Overly Feminine" and "Promotes a show for 4 year old girls." So it isn't about it being "Appropriate", Per se, more like blatantly saying... "You look gay, and you make us look gay too."
All in due tiiime, my prettyyyyy... heheheheheeheheheheeeeee... Pretend the guy in the chair is MAH BAWS. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKtIG60kdw8 Warning: Do not watch if you don't like stuff like this. Skip to the ~1:15 area.
This is the only person that it shall be done to. I do not wish for people to get the wrong Idea about bronies. Where's my crossbow...
