Hey everypony. I've been looking into bronycon 2013 in Baltimare. And I really wanna go, I visited the website but I couldn't find any info on a deadline. How long do I have to get my hooves on a ticket? Or am I too late.
Well I don't know any bronies in real life. So I want to post a post in the community forums asking if someone wants to meet up. I don't know if that's wierd though. Asking someone I don't know to meet me there. I just don't wanna go by myself.
I would be able to go if I had transportation. It would be cool to find a partner who can help with that and help pay for a hotel room. I'll be living back in eastern Ohio by the time BronyCon comes around.
Yeah. I think i will post in the community forum to find people who want to meet up: I just don't know if that's wierd or not. To ask people I don't know. But I'm all for making new friends. It really sucks to not have any bronies in real life
So...I just read their entire FAQ section. It's long, btw. Apparently you don't have to register ahead of time, you can buy a ticket (they call them badges) at the door. However, the price is higher if you go that route, but only by like $5. Early bird registration for $10 off is all already taken. If I go, I'll be going alone too, although I wouldn't mind meeting up with some people from this site to roll around the con with. Although I'm not 100% sure whether I'm going yet, I'm still looking into hotels and how I'm gonna get there and stuff. EDIT: Looked into it more, the Baltimore Hilton's BronyCon block is already booked full. You could prolly still stay there, but without the Con discount, so it might be considerably more than $125 a night. There are about three other hotels that are really close: there's a Sheraton that is connected to the center and a Holiday Inn (I think) that's right across the street, both at $150 a night. But there's a Mariott only like a block away for $125 a night, which would prolly be the one I'm going for... walking a block or two to save $50 sounds worth it to me. You can find hotel info here: http://bronycon.org/hotels They also offer a 10% discount through Amtrak if you plan on going by train, which would get you to Baltimore Penn station, then you hop onto a light rail train towards Camden Yards and ride 15 minutes to Pratt street station, which is right across from the center. Prolly the way I'm going. So ya, if you're interested in going, I'd get a move on booking your hotel and travel accommodations, as things seem to be filling up pretty fast already. And to answer your question, nope, not that weird, part of the experience is meeting new people.
Well that sounds cool. I'm like 80% sure I'm going. Il probably just check into some random hotel In Baltimore. I think I'm just going to bronycon for one day and the other night il just hit up the night life.
If we can get to a Hilton, my sister can hook us up with a crazy discount. Like 40% I believe. My only problem is transportation. 334 miles away.
Oh so you will be in OH, when it comes around. Got it. Well I'm not good with planning trips or anything, but il need to look into it to find out more info on everything. The bronycon website doesn't really help
Heh, hooking up with people sounds like a good idea. Not only to save money but as others have said, to have someone to be around during the con. Although I'm all the way in South Carolina, driving that far on my own is a tad crazy.
A bus is cheaper, however I've looked into that already. For me it was about three transfers on a 12 hour trip. I'm not sure I could survive that kind of trip on public transportation. A train may be a bit more expensive but it may be the middle ground I'll have to take to make this work if I can't hook up with someone else to share the drive.
Weird, for me taking either a train or bus would be about the same amount of time, but a round-trip train ticket would be $20 cheaper, not even including the BronyCon discount through Amtrak. Honestly I'd just drive there but lately my car's been dangerous at both ends and crafty in the middle >.< You can check out the BronyCon forums page, there's a bit more info there and you can post a question if you want to know something specific. I also might be able to help.
Ahh how much I long to want to go to one of these sometime. There was one taking place up in Nashville,TN but idk the distance is issue for me. Maybe sometime I will be able to do the trek out to one.
If you live in the US you should be able to find one within a reasonable distance from you, I was actually just talking to Yeti about this and he listed like 20 different cons that take place all over the US.
I won't be able to go to any conventions this year as much as I want to especially since I plan to start going to Northwestern Technical College during the Summer semester, you can bet i'll be in the livestream chat for that and all future Brony conventions that happen this year though.
