So day one (for me at least, I'm not sure about the others yet), is over. As far as conventions go it was pretty good, very humid though, but there was like, a bar always on hoof and a Subway across the street by a bit. I'll just copy paste what I've already said to somepony :derpe: So getting there for me was pretty simple, just a short train ride, then I instantly found the place it was being held at the first time I looked around Manchester a bit. Merri had printed off these name tags we all had by VirgilPony and Merri using vectors we sent him, and we have those little neck holders to keep our "Performer" tags from the convention in as well. He didn't realise I could skip to the front because I had a special ticket until Foxy flailed his arms at him a tad. Laffs! We didn't set up straight away, so the first few 10 minutes onwards was basically planning what we were going to do with the table and equipment in the hour and half time slot that we had. And actually FINDING it as well lol. Before then though we met up with the artist Firenze and Merri went round with his Nottingham/UK of E gang, and we were ALWAYS losing track of where he was *rolls eyes*. Me and Tyro meanwhile went around the con at first interviewing all the vendors and recording videos of around the centre so we'll probably have that to look forwards to. There may be a blooper where my shoe came off on the stairs. When we did get set up, we played the songs from the show in chronological order and then played a couple of things like "Wooden Overture" and stuff. It seemed like a very short space of time that we worked in. So after that we went round talking to some of the artists, the Nottingham people, some random bronies in the crowd. Foxy and Tyro got a couple rounds of the pony version of a Dance Dance Revoltuion arcade game in, which I of course recorded on my I-pod touch. At the musician Q and A panels we got to ask a few questions and then we spoke with them all afterwards. So I-pie signed my name tag on the back and we got to have a little chat with people like Pipsqueak and Glaze etc. I bought a G4 blind bag pony from one of the vendors which turned out to be a jelly stallion pony. I would have bought more of them but I bought a 4 pack already which included Rarity, RD, Twilight, and Pinkie. I got an Applejack poster made by someone to put up in my room, a Rarity badge, an Octavia sticker, and a cross stitch set for Shining Armour and Princess Cadence. So great day really. Will update with pics and possibly videos later. ~ Poetic
Geez, day one already sounds like a blast! Well, aside from keeping tabs on Merri the elusive pony. Nice scores on all the merch from what it sounds like. I can't wait to see pics of those, and the videos that got recorded. Good to hear everyone out there is having an awesome time. I expect an influx of new members on the site when you're all done out there.
Just got home! It was fantastic meeting you (for props) today Poet, I really hope you can make it back tomorrow... We're hoping we'll be able to make a little more of an impact. I agree with the humidity remark and the general "it was good" conclusion. I'll expand aplenty on that once I've done tomorrow, I feel today was very much getting used to the size and atmosphere of the whole event, I think it'll be a lot less confusing/awkward tomorrow. LOOKING FORWARDS <3!!
I should really stop reading these. Whenever I read em, it makes me sad because I probably won't be allowed to attend them until they're long since over. ;_;
*Jelly on a plate. Jelly on a plate. Wibble wobble wibble wobble, Jelly on a plate* I really wanna be there... You guys had better be there next year!!
Eeyup, I can probably attend next year. I will be old enough then and transport will be much easier. Also my parents will know about Bronies by then. Buck 2013, can't wait. :3
