California's attempt to secede from the USA is now official article Yeah. They are really doing this. It is said that if at least 50% of the people sign a petition that states that the citizens of California are wanting the state to secede for the USA. It's now been getting bigger and it's estimated that if the petition is successful, they will secede by 2018. Link to the article above for more info.
The Country of California would last all of two minutes, if even that. The rely on Uncle Sam far too much to go it alone.

It'll never happen. Like it says in the OP, even starting the process would require half of the adult population of California to sign the petition. That's more than ten million people who would have to agree to this. When you consider that Hillary Clinton received only nine million votes in the state, you realize that reaching that ten million mark is so astronomically improbable that it might as well just be called impossible.
I have to wonder whether the people most against having California leave the USA would be fans of the Los Angeles Lakers. But in all seriousness, I have an elderly aunt who lives one state over from California. If I know her well enough, she's probably gotten herself worked up and worried about this if she's heard about it by now.
Build that wall(The one between Cal and the rest of the US) first. I live in Nevada, I've seen what California brings.
I lived in Oregon for more than a decade, so I agree with this. Californians have made their own state so horribly unlivable that many choose to flee to other states... and then promptly set to work attempting to make that state as bad as California!

A cursory glance at the facts would show him that Russia is also a capitalist country. Then again, I suppose one cannot expect logical consistency from Mr. Marinelli.
