So the chat's been up for a small duration, I'm just looking to get a little feedback on how it's going. Are you glad it's back? Do you like any changes? Dislike any changes? Are you actively using it? How can we further improve it? Are there enough/adequately named channels? Anything at all really, let me know!
.I never saw it before but I like it .I did'nt see it before so idk .^ .If I see somepony on there yes .I dont knwo, maybe more active users talking more? .Yes
1. I did not ever go to the chat before it was taken down in the first place. Cannot comment. 2. I -do- know that Private Channels are no longer allowed, and this is a good thing. I also like the separate RP and chat sections. 3. I can't see anything I dislike. 4. Indeed. 5. Make it more... noticeable. The navbar isn't enough to grasp so much attention to it. 6. In my opinion, yes.
1) I missed out on it last time, but I was looking forward to it 2) Again, I'm not sure what changes took place, but it all seems good 3) Same as above, nothing I really dislike 4) I try to but not many other people are on it (I probably just come on at awkward times) 5) Attract more attention to it. I barely noticed it in the navbar. 6) Yes
Hmm attract more attention? Newsreel image or something more permanent? Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk 2
I think that could work. Would it be possible to make a direct link to the chat? Like, make a subsection that links to the Chat in a place like Sugarcube Corner?
There's a chat? I assume you mean the one that has all but no people in it. I personally see little use in it, EPR is quite competent at performing functions as a chat. Skype also fulfills that duty quite well too. That of course is personally my opinion, But I really do think reinventing the wheel is aimless; Decentralizing chats just makes all of them have fewer frequenters. Perhaps the fact that Skype isn't public/you need to invite people/isn't "moderated" (some people actually like having rules in place), nor can you RP in the EPR chat, hence the RE-instation of the chat (which actually came before EPR's). So I hardly deem it useless or audience splitting. Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk 2
Strictly speaking, there CAN be rules in a skype call. EP's staff can not set them, though. Society's rules, of course, are still there, and are perhaps the more relevant ones. There is of course a possibility of RP in the new chat, but I have yet to see another person ever enter the RP room of said chat. I must however agree that this is not useless audience splitting. I can hardly say that having three people on at any time will affect any of the other media in any way.
Only true for those who care what Society thinks of themselves. On a larger scale of things I mean, probably relevent in this case though. Don't mind me.
•Are you glad it's back? Yes, I love it •Do you like any changes? N/A I joined after it weas taken down •Dislike any changes? N/A •Are you actively using it? Yes very actively •How can we further improve it? It needs more mods, or they need to be around more often tonight was especially bad. •Are there enough/adequately named channels? Yes at the moment, but maybe in the future when it becomes less popular a second rp channel wouldn't hurt. When there isn't constant rule breaking it is a wonderful place.
I usually hang out in the radio chat, so i don't visit the other one very often. I tried it out for a while, but there usually aren't alot of people on there. That said, i do like the chat. It's just that the livestream is usually more active. People don't usually enter an empty chatbox when there's a more active chatbox one click away. Combining them somehow would be the perfect solution, i think. (if its even possible)
I hardly notice it. It's nice, I guess. Smileys don't crash it anymore! nope nope Maybe you could embed the main chat room into the bottom of every page or something like that, so that the last ten posts from the main chat room are visible on the forums and accessible while you browse. Also, sounds to notify when a new post is made. yes
I like the idea of the last ten posts thing. But there is a sound that notifies when a new post is made. You just have to make sure that the speaker under the submit button isn't muted.
And the sounds don't work in - Chrome - I believe it is. It's one browser or another (not IE surprisingly). @TenorTrouble - Did smilies ever crash it? Ten Post Thing: It'd be like having everyone who visits the site automatically placed into the chat room - the server would probably die... Unless I cached it, but now we're probably getting into more trouble than it's really worth. I don't plan on combining the two chats, I believe they cater to very different discussions and audiences, each warranting their own space at present. Thanks for the feedback!
Dat Avatar change. I was on this page and your Avatar was Rarity, then I went back to the first one and it was Sweetie Belle It was a mind !@#$ moment.
