Christmas Event Suggestions

Invite regular ponies of EPR onto Skype, a couple at a time, so things don't get too crowded.

 

I was thinking of a big live broadcast not only with the DJs but with some guys from the chat aswell. We could sing some christmas songs, chit chat and maybe have a big "2011 Pony Year Review". Maybe also have a quiz with small prizes or something like that.

Only problem I see is, that it'd be radio exclusive. We'd also need something for the forums of course

How about the 2011 Pony quiz? Questions ranging on topics from throughout the year, contestants must not do any pre-hand research nor are allowed to look up answers from google.
Submit the question form, then ponies reply with their answers, top scorer gets........? [Maybe we could make one of those "forum awards" for the winner]
Some sort of code cracking challenge? Codes lead to secret, otherwise inaccessible pages around the site (get there through URL's), the codebreaker gets to a congratulatory page to recieve...? [A different forum award?]

 

Here's an idea for the forum,
But it would take a bunch of code to do.

Hide 'easter eggs' (Only something Christmas themed instead)
Around the forum, on various pages.
Have the amount collected by users tracked
Somewhere on their profile page.
And then some sort of prize for the people
Who collected the most.

These should probably be randomly hidden
Algorithmically, to prevent people from helping each other
Find them, and probably shouldn't appear on the
Same page more than once. Ever.

Flash's Idea seems REALLY nice!
That one's got my endorsement, as little as it means.

 

I think we should all have a mass session in Forum games. Would be awesome, and many would get NINJA'D!

 

Flash's idea is coolbeans.

Also, fresh from the radio : Christmas readings on the stream. (AppleCore has good ideas too, see?)

 

Mine and Flash's ideas are virtually the same, and I posted mine first.

Some ponies will not be able to be on Skype at certain times.

Except, for the users being added to the Skype call; I would say hold a little drawing of names, sort of like the one we had for the Secret Santa thing. And the day before we do the broadcast, if it's done, however many names you guys want to pick will be selected and added to the call.

 

I've already talked to Foxy about tweaking that idea a little. We were thinking whoever solves the quiz first gets to be on air. Maybe the first 2-3 who can solve it.

Edit for another idea: Maybe we could hold a christmas fanfiction contest. Let people write their best christmas fics and then put up a vote to decide which is the best, then read that one live on EPR.

We should make our own MLP episode about us! that would be awesome as Derpy!!!
