What do you think you'd be classified as? Me, now I'm a double-diehard, but before I was a denial closet. Well if you don't know, here are the terms: Denial Closet: You secretly like the show, but when someone asks you deny it. Closet: Secretly you like the show but if someone asked, you'd admit it and try to get off the topic as soon as possible. Casual: You're sorta proud. You're not wearing the shirts or anything, but if someone asked, you'd say yes and talk about it. DieHard: You're proud of being a brony and MLP easily comes up in a conversation, but not for very long. Double DieHard: You don't ever shut up about it, even to people who couldn't care less. Well, let's see our fandom!
I think diehard would describe me best. I'll talk about if somebody brings it up. Have no problem discussing the fandom and the show at length. But, if it is somebody I don't know. I am nervous discussing it in person. But, I wear t-shirts and have a Rainbow Dash decal on my car. But, if I pick up on hints that a stranger might also be brony, I get nervous around them. I am getting better about that and hope to be over it. If I get nervous about it, how in equestria will I ever meet another brony in person? I am thinking the best way to accomplish this would be to go to BronyCon.
Somewhere between closet and casual. Probably more of the latter. I've got pony stuff in my room but I don't really tell people I'm a fan. If they ask though, I wouldn't lie.
I'm a mix of casual and diehard casual because I don't talk about the show to non Bronies but i'm a diehard because I own several shirts, several DVDs and have several MLP related apps on my smartphone.
Casual. I'll talk about the show to my brony friends or if someone brings it up, but otherwise, I'll keep quiet about it.
Well, I don't consider myself a 'Brony'. Overall I consider myself to be 'casual'. However, there is variation. To the general public (including Facebook friends) I tend to keep to myself any interests aside from my musical instruments. I tended to find those who constantly post about shows to be annoying, so I decided that I would just avoid talking about them altogether to avoid annoying anybody. However, with some of my friends, they know full-well that I really like the show. In fact, they might even somehow know me more for liking the show than for my musical instruments... I really, really hope not, but I have a feeling that impression could have been given off. I try not to talk about it around them much, but it'd somehow get brought up... Or since I don't drive, when I'm out with friends and see something MLP I simply must have, that's one of the very few opportunities I can get it. >.< So, it's just kind of unfortunate coincidence that I may come off that way to them. Although, overall I am very much 'casual'. So much to the point I can't believe I even actually bought any merchandise... (not in that I regret doing so, but that any motivation for such ever happened, because there are shows/anime I LOVE so much more than FiM, but I couldn't care less about merchandise for them. lol).
Closet. Nothing more interesting than that. Though, I wouldn't sway off topic because I fear ridicule, discrimination, or..confrontation, but because I just don't have anything to say about it, and the conversation would turn stale, quickly.
Other, I definitely partake in the fandom, but I know when to shut up about it. (Looking at you, "welcome to the herd" people)
Closet... Nobody IRL knows about it, despite having a few blind bag ponies and openly expressing knowledge about the show (with little girls anyway) people just assume I've done my research (helps I've done research on other little kid obsessions too like Moshi Monsters and Monster High...) - - Auto Merge - - Closet... Hmm...I'm not sure... I'm not quite sure, but I'm guessing I would fall somewhere in between Casual and DieHard, maybe a little more DieHard, I mean, I really like the show, but I'm sorta Closet within my family, but around friends I'm in that zone. I don't know, I'll have to check again. I'm kinda complicated in this one. I have a shirt or two, and like a ton of other stuff, but I'm just not quite there yet...
I'd say I was midway between a casual and a Diehard, back in the day. I spent a lot of time collecting merch, talking about the show, even went to a convention, but I wouldn't talk to somebody about ponies if they weren't interested because that'd just be inconsiderate. At the moment, I don't fall under any of these. I've lost interest in My Little Pony. Bored of it. Perhaps I'll get back into it one day, but eh.
