So it's no secret that most bronies are pretty nerdy in one way or another. I'm curious what kind of nerds we have here. To everypony in college, what are you studying? I'm majoring in History and Archaeology. Indiana Jones was my obsession long before MLP =D
hehe, I'm majoring in computer engineering on FER (part of Zagreb University) I always loved computers and playing with codes.
I'm studying informatics (or computer technology, dunno if "informatics" is the right word, anyway programming and lot of other stuff connected with computers like computer architecture, graphics etc. : P ) at the moment : P Don't know if I'm gonna stay and finish it or reroll to sth else, my education life is in a little bit of chaos right now : P Computer engineering! That's how it is called : P
I'm majoring in Biology with a concentration in Zoology. Yay animals! Favorite animals: King cheetahs and owls! ^_^
Fluttershy is proud of you ^ ^ I admire you, Biology is so difficult : P I mean, there is sooooo much to learn and memorize.
Computer science for me. I've actually already graduated, but still. ; (Nerd nerd nerd, nerd is the word ~♫)
School. GCSEs. You know, the easy stuff we do before A Levels and Uni? Anyhow, they consist of: English, mathematics, the three sciences, German, electronics, RE, PE, history, IT and Cisco. After that lot, A Levels begin. AKA. Decent qualifications.
I wouldn't consider myself a nerd! Actually, I'd rather be considered a nerd, the way I dress, most people think I'm a drug dealer or something. Anyway, I'm studying biology, physics and chemistry at A2 level (second year of non-compulsary education). I also took computing last year, but I dropped it. At GCSE level, I also studied psychology, music, IT and something else I've forgotten.
I'm studying Meteorology with a concentration in Forecasting and Communications. I became interested in the weather at a very young age. I used to be deathly afraid of thunderstorms, but I was afraid of the part that couldn't hurt you (under normal circumstances), the thunder. At some point I learned it was the lightning that was deadly, and decided to watch a storm roll in for the first time and face my fear of thunder to watch the lightning. I'm glad I did because I was awestruck. Ever since then I just loved lightning and the power it yields. I also grew up watching the local forecasts on The Weather Channel as a kid, as it was my only access to weather information prior to the Internet. I used to pretend to be a weather forecaster, heh. Then in 1996, the movie Twister came out, and although it wasn't meteorologically accurate, it was still entertaining. So I decided to pursue a career in which I can learn more about the storms I love, and maybe even one day chase some storms, as well as be able to forecast them and potentially help save lives. Will I be an on-camera meteorologist? Eh... probably not. I'm still not comfortable with the idea of being on-camera. I'm looking more into doing things behind-the-scenes. I'm focusing more on the forecasting aspect instead of the communications part, although I know both are very important, as in many cases they're intertwined. I'm required to take both types of courses. Of course, just as the weather, life can be very unpredictable, so who knows. Maybe I'll be a famous weatherman someday, heh, but I doubt it. I don't think I'd want to be famous anyway. I think fame would be too much of a burden and we don't need my ego getting inflated now, do we?
*not in University/College yet* Highschool g10. Plans for future: Computer Engineering, then maybe continue onwards to being a Lawyer... Plus a bunch of enterpreneur stuff... (video games, comic, those two basically) Yup, a nerd. But I also enjoy sports... not that I play any as I really dislike my current gym teacher.
I'm actually not a nerd, but a geek! A band geek to be precise, but that's beside the point!!! I'm taking a heavy load (19 credit hours) and am looking at majoring in chemistry! That's just a bare bones description of my future right now!
Computing, History (Russian history 1832-1952), Media and Graphics. Not a nerdy selection in my opinion. :3
I'm a Sports Management major. I hope to either become a sports agent, own my own sports bar, or work in the front office of a college/professional team! Weird major, I know.
Do you have any sport preferences? I'm a college basketball manager, even though I'm aware it's no where near the same thing as you're going into haha.
