Just a few Favourites [size=+3]Community Post #104[/size] So...Apparently it's been two years since we started writing these things. Gordon Bennett! How have we gotten like this?! I mean it's a round-up of stuff on a website. That's normal. That's fine. It's just that if we miss out a week or so, people start asking about it. "Where's the Community Post?" "It's been a while...Is there a Community Post this week?" "I will burn things if the Community Post isn't written today!" And that's just Eight Star! It's actually pretty neat! Except when Eight actually follows through. And we were able to replace the carpet with ease because I destroyed the really nice one we had after the last time I had peppery chicken, sneezed and breathed fire over the small yukka plant we had. We'd been using it to dump coffee into but it some how made the plant somewhat like napalm... Jhera can really shift when he wants to... What was I talking about? Oh! Right. I was genuinely amazed that Yukka Plant never came to life. After all, when I started here, I wasn't 100% sure how the coffee maker worked. Well, some of the stuff I made during that time - because I think it was closer to arsenic than coffee - got dumped in the yukka plant pot. I'm pretty sure I saw it move...Twice. Maybe it's best I torched it...Hmm? All right, all right, I'll shut up about Bernie. If the plant did come to life, I'd call it Bernie. Or Bernadette. Depends on what it identified as...I'm naming sentient Yukka Plants, maybe I drunk more of the failed coffee than I remember... So, we decided we were going to do one of those videos where we have a nice big chat and record it. Then we'd add all those images and words and stuff and it would be really fun! It would have plenty of laughs and jokes. In fact, this one was primarily devoted to a theory I've heard about the Pokemon games. It got heated quickly as me, Foxy, Dragon and Fulcrum all bantered on about games. And then Fraps, the program Fulcrum was using to record the chat, decided that it was going to chop that up into a million tiny pieces, one for every new window he moved to. This made editing it a pain in the flank so that one will have to wait. However, after that, we all decided we needed a break... Here we go! Almost a month of these to get though... Firstly, something that has been criminally overlooked. I enjoy writing these things because I get to know about the things you guys are so passionate about, you'll write about them. As a result, I get to learn new things. Case in point, Entomology from Simon (51m0nn). The posts I've read so far have been really cool. They're well written, informative and clearly showing off something he enjoys. It makes a damn good blog post in my opinion! So, here you can read about the Ant Mimicking Spider, The Crab Spider and The Garden Commodore Butterfly. Keep up the good work, matie! Also, there's actual pictures of real spiders here (which seem to be from his own garden...). If they freak you out, give it a miss... This was an interesting read as I can't remember anyone ever requesting a moral for an episode of FiM. Nightmare Muffin has raised this thought from the base of her glutiny core: would there be a Mothers or Fathers day episode that could be centred around a character and their parents? I was thinking on it and it does sound like an idea. Afterall, we only know something...vaguely, about Rarity's parents. The others are either there in flashback or only vaguely mentioned. Maybe some confirmation on what happened to Applejack's parents? Wouldn't that be awesome? Or maybe to see what Pinkie's Parents think of her? Or Twilight's? After all, you've got to say something after finding out your little filly has been transformed into a creature of incredible power. Just a thought! VG_Addict also raises a thought: Would there have been a fandom like this one if Faust had created Galaxy Girls instead? I dunno! Last I checked, the documented reason for Brony's came from a critic blasting the show in it's initial run and that resulting in members of FourChan checking it out. They enjoyed it greatly and continued watching. It's kind of a fluke that there's an adult audience but I doubt that FiM would have stayed as just a show for very long without that critic attempting to pull it apart only to give a fandom it's initial spark. However, I don't know much about Galaxy Girls or what it is like so I'm gonna reserve judgement there. Just my two cents. Team Fortress 2 recently released an update that brought with it new weapons, taunts and the funniest, most entertaining shorts they've ever produced. I even talk about it all too! It lasted for about two days and I talk about both halves! Check it out if you like that sort of thing! DoDo next! Man! This guy just keeps me reading. We're both guys that like to play older games and fiddle with old consoles. What's not to enjoy, ay? Apparently, he's been playing the slightly milder than it's predecessor shoot-em-up Pocky and Rocky 2 only to discover some...curious names within a couple of these games. Get your conspiracy hats on! Aaaaand he also talks about a game I've never heard of! Because I had a Mega Drive! Which was a silly idea in retrospect. Blast Processing or Mode 7? Because America can't just let Asia have their Horror, Martial Arts and Monster Movies, they have to go and make them BETTERER! With CGI and Helicopter Battles and Frank Azaria! "Needs more explosions and Simpson's Actors! I know....Wrong movie but I just don't see why we needed another one... Also, LyonKS555 (gonna call him just Lyon from here on out) gives his thoughts on the recent E3 Nintendo thingamajig. Just my thoughts but Splatoon looks awesome and it's weird that Robot Chicken got involved... Oh! This was something kinda interesting and important. I don't know if it's still an issue but it's worth spreading around. I'll let it explain for itself. Worth a look, trust me! So is the delightful thread where a few peeps try and think of who could be the villains for Season 5 of FiM. Loving the sense of humour in this one. Mike310 found a shiny Spitfire. That's pretty much it, it turns out they're relatively valuable. His daughters kinda lucky. Unless she's accidentally dropped it into some poster paint or attempted to sign the hooves with her name like in Toy Story. And lastly, something mildly silly to ponder: what do you think the Main Six would sing if they were to have a karaoke night? There! Something to argue over with your friends! Or even in the comments! So, that's that. There's a few extra things. I'm gonna start popping the Community Post up on Tumblr, starting with this one. Because they're...well, they're a page of information and rambling idiocy but I think they might be appealing. Plus, you can spread them around to your friends and go "Look! This website is run by weirdoes and nutballs! Why not join?" Well, I can dream... Secondly, you can always ask to write a Community Post yourself. So, I hope to the further opportunity to write this balance of stupid and inane thoughts that ramble through my head and stuff that made me sit up and take notice that was created by the members of this site.
