Everypony Community Post #93: Henry Edition! Why hello there! It certainly has been a while, hasn't it? EP's a little over three years running now since last week. Since that's happened, it's only fitting that such a momentous occasion be met with momentous changes! Starting with this Community Post, the Everypony Staff will be allowing volunteers to write Community Posts! Great, huh? I like the idea myself. (Well, considering that I'm writing it now anyway...) There are a few simple guidelines to do this, of course. First of all, your Community Posts need to be well written vocabulary-wise, as well as having the ability to keep the CP from being a jumbled mess. Second, the next requirement is that you ask @Tyro The Fox, [MENTION=295]Fulcrum[/MENTION], [MENTION=200]Dragonbait[/MENTION], or @Eight Star about it! More likely than not, they'll allow you to make a 'rough draft' post for them that they can proofread, give suggestions on, and overall tell you if it's ready to be set to the site. My, what a marvelous addition! I think if people want to get involved in the community more they should start volunteering! Who knows? You could be a big hit! Give it a shot! You can either PM them here or shoot them a message on Skype! (tyrothefox for... well, Tyro the Fox, duh, dragonbait52 for Dragonbait and clawsofslash for Eight Star!) With that, we should probably get started before I run out of breath (and entertainment value)! It's time to shine! Site News, Events, And Goings-On There's not much in terms of site news, besides Community Post Volunteers. However, the 'official' Everypony Mascot Discussion is in its 5th phase! So far, the gender and race have been selected, but the name and Body Type of our beloved (future) mascot is still under heavy debate! Check it out! Remember, your choices affect what our mascot looks like in the future, so choose what you think would be best for Everypony as a whole! (My vote's on Canny Coterie and Body Type 2... Wink wink, nudge nudge) Also keep in mind that tomorrow at 1 PM EDT, the Friendship Cannon Podcast will be discussing the new episode of MLP that's coming out, along with other things, like future site events, activities, news, and other offbeat topics that come up on a whim! Community Discussion, Content, and Threads! Now this we definitely have a lot of, kya ha ha! First off, seems we have a pony in need of some friends on Skype! Seems this one's quite a talker and would love to get to know a couple of people on the site! Provided you have a microphone, of course. If you're looking for someone to talk about the show and bronies in general with, maybe you should give him a ring! ...What are you doing? No, stop that, don't propose to him, that's rude. You just met him. This isn't a dating site. That's not what I meant. @Vulpine Script is back with another entry into his Game Design blog! In this entry, Vulpine goes into a bit more detail about the concept of one of his games that he has in mind, something akin to a racer and a platformer! I find the concept quite unique and interesting myself, so you should definitely give this one a read, especially if you're into how games are brainstormed and made! Also, be sure to give some suggestions or thoughts on it while you're at it, as all input is appreciated! Our resident Floridian Pilot Moderator Pony, @Fulcrum, (FPMP... That has a nice ring to it! No, dammit, put the ring down!) posted another one of his musings on his blog, this time detailing a bit into what he has to read and study for for his tests in school and whatnot! And yet, he still graces us with his presence even though he has things of his own to worry about. I think that he deserves a little round of applause from us all for staying up with us insomniacs on chat to make sure nothing gets too hectic. Truly the hero EP needs! Lastly, @Airship McHoof posted an interesting thing on a series of his called Science Vs. Magic! This time on the science side, we have the Wonder Twins vs. the magic side, our favourite side characters in the MLP franchise, the Cutie Mark Crusaders! This is quite the interesting read, no matter how improbable the situation may be! Be sure to give your opinions on the matchup in the thread! Brony News! Now for our general brony news segment, we've got four little interesting tidbits of information for you, courtesy of derpynews and Equestria Daily! First off, there appears to be some news about two new cards and changes to the rules of the My Little Pony Trading Card game! In this article, in-depth explanations of the new cards and the rules given are detailed and explained for the sake of all Bronydom interested in such a thing! If you are invested in these cards or are just interested in things such as Magic: The Gathering or something of the sort, give this a read! It's well worth it. Secondly, Hasbro officially released a preview for their Equestria Girls project, Rainbow Rocks! In this musical short our favourite DJ Pony, Vinyl Scratch, takes a leisurely stroll through the streets before running into an unexpected surprise! If you're a fan of Daniel Ingram's work, and in general like Vinyl Scratch (Or Equestria Girls, for that matter), this is definitely worth your time! I was bopping my head to the tune within seconds. Third, Derpynews released their 'State of the Herd' address, bringing to light some interesting new topics in the fandom, such as the increasing rate of female bronies, Utah having the most bronies per capita, Russia being the 4th most brony-populated country, and more! If you're interested in the fandom itself and want to have a good look at just how far the fandom has come from its (4chan) beginnings then this is most definitely not a waste of your time. I, myself, find it fascinating just how much the fandom has grown over the years and, contrary to popular belief, it's actually growing! Lastly, the moment you've all been waiting for... McDonald's has finally put the My Little Pony toys into circulation! You know what this means! Go, buy more toys! Please the Brony Gods! Kyaaaa ha ha ha! Haha... Erm... Ahem... anyway... ...And engorge yourself on Chicken McNuggets, 'cause dang those things are good! And that's about all I have for tonight.
