So who's going out shopping on Thanksgiving/Black Friday/Cyber Monday? As for me, last year was the first time going out on Black Friday ever and it was pretty fun and I got some really nice deals. I wasn't going to go out this year, but I learned that gamestop is offering 50% off a lot of the games that have been on my list that I was going to buy anyway, so I figured why not save a few bones and get them on Black Friday? Of course that means I'll probably be standing out in the cold in the wee hours of the morning fighting all the kids trying to get PS4's and Xbones, but I didn't have anything else planned so why not? I haven't decided fully yet, but I'm definitely getting Borderlands 2 and Dark Souls, and also maybe Red Dead and the Witcher 2. (I'm really behind on my vidya games lol) I'm also going to be hitting up Cyber Monday pretty hard, I've put off buying lots of the stuff I wanted for the last month or so just so I could buy them all on sale, and I figure I'll prolly get some early Xmas shopping done while I'm at it. So what about you guys, who's gonna be waiting in line and who's sitting home?
I most likely will have to work on Black Friday. And since I work at a department store, my day is going to suck. We've already been piping Christmas music through the speakers for the past two weeks. get hype...
Black Friday is pretty much the only time of the year that I can afford picking up some games, so I'm definitely going out to fight off the savage hordes. I already have my games picked out! Bioshock Infinite, Assassin's Creed, Sly Cooper, Tales of Xilia, and Ni No Kuni. That should last me a good chunk of next year. ^^
Good luck getting me to participate in this Black Friday nonsense. I despise everything about the occasion.
Discounts on material items...camp outside stores in the freezing cold...discounts...bulldoze my way through a sea of rude A-holes... ...Pass.
At least Zephyr Wind isn't a party pooper lol. Cheapskates ftw! lol ...seriously, I'd take on a zombie horde for half-price video games.
There aren't a whole lot of things I usually want so black friday is just another day for me. Just a lot more traffic to deal with. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
Oh and guys, if you don't want to deal with the crowds and waiting around in the cold, there's always Cyber Monday... I hear Amazon is going to have some great deals, and most other websites usually offer some discounts that day. I'm definitely picking up some new anime and manga, as well as a bunch of other stuff I've had my eyes on for awhile now.
This is my favorite day of the whole year, not for the deals or anything, I could care less about those. I care about the day it's self and all the crazy people that come in. They are just so great to watch. Last year, I had this cart of laptops that were to be given to people that had a ticket and waited in line. So, I'm trying to get it through the aisle that can only fit about 1 1/4 carts in it. People are trying to go opposite directions in this aisle, then here I come. I disrupt everything, so people start getting angry and making a fuss. It's so funny. Then people start taking things off the cart and I tell them they can't have it, then I have to "argue" with them about it, which holds up the aisle more. Then there was the guy that pulled a knife out like 2 years ago over some elmo thing. It was great, this dude is willing to pull a knife on another human for a toy. There is also the large item pick up area. This one dude brought a 2 door mazda thing Spoiler: similar to this Anyway, he bought a 60 inch tv, then gets mad he can't get it in the car. DUUH. Like how stupid can you be. There are also the people that buy like 2 power wheels jeep things, 42 inch tv and trampoline, then wonder why it all doesn't fit in the SUV which is already filled with other items purchased inside and also has to sit 2 people. This is my favorite day ever.
^ One of the recent South Park episodes had a security guard stabbed by a Black Friday shopper over an Elmo doll. It was hilarious.
Yeah...that's crazy man. When I went out last year it was like me, my buddy and maybe 6 other people waiting in line at gamestop and everyone was polite and calm the whole time. idk maybe it'll be a bit crazier this year since the PS4 and Xbone just came out, but neither of them is even discounted for black friday so I don't really see people going nuts over them. Place like Walmart and Best Buy are definitely the stores I'd want to avoid on black friday, that's where the tramplings happen. :/
