I keep hearing this from my fellow bronies about how some parts in some episodes are "cringe worthy" or that they don't like. I think ya'll might be taking this a little too seriously. I can really hardly find any moments in all 3 seasons so far that have bothered me... Sure, some things could have been done better in my opinion, but that doesn't mean that they're bad. Every episode is entertaining and I love to re-watch them all tons and tons of times. Now don't give me the excuse that "it's a show for little girls, what did you expect?". Well, yeah, but I think you're setting your standards a little too high for a show meant to entertain us with its cuteness, funniness, and charm, not supposed to be some riveting epic tale, though I'm sure it could if it wanted to be. Once again, thank you for your time. /rant
Season one had a fair amount of cringe-worthy moments, though to be fair I have only watched the series once and I was not a very dedicated brony when I watched the earlier episodes. Seasons two and three have not had any cringe-worthy moments that I can remember except for a few moments with the CMC's. It seems to me that the show dropped almost all of it's 'girly' parts after season one, perhaps when they began to realize and cater to the presence of bronies. Oh, except for the opening theme, I still have difficulty watching that.
I've noticed you've posted quite a few rant threads lately, if you just need to rant about various things and don't necessarily feel the need to open the floor for a discussion, you could always just use your blog for that. Just sayin' Anyway, I think you may have misinterpreted the meaning of the term... when we say something is 'cringe-worthy' that does not mean that it is bad or that we don't like it. Well, some of us don't like it, but the term refers to moments that are either really corny or awkward...being that MLP is what it is, these moments in the show are unavoidable, and come with the territory of being a brony, but sometimes they still make you go, "eugh...."
I have yet to see a "cringe-worthy" moment from MLP. Don't get me wrong, There are a few "meh" moments or even episodes I can think of but it doesn't bother me too much. As long as the demographic is pleased with the show, then it's good enough for me. Unfortunately a lot of bronies are overly critical and while I do find some parts of the show to be a little cheesy, I don't get too annoyed by it (or bash the writers). IT'S A KIDS' SHOW, PEOPLE!
Haha, I have the exact same problem (although I must say the opening theme in season 2&3 was a bit easier to listen to for me for some reason.) But as for cringe worthy moments, no, can't say I have. Also depends on what you mean by ''cringe worthy''. There are a few: ''Uuuhm riiight'' moments here or there or maybe a ''meh'' but not really something to be upset about. I think it's still an amazing show and a few less awesome moment doesn't take away from my overall opinion about the show.
This goes for me too. I've also recently had cringing moments over Fluttershy when she is with her animals friends, as the cuteness levels just go too high for me to handle.
To be fair, though, I'm pretty sure cringe-worthy was what that episode was going for, shmoopy-doopy sweetie-weetie pony pie.
Yeah, that's why I'm not too bothered about it. Although it's probably my least favourite episode because of that.
Least favorite is and will always be Dragon Quest. In fact, thinking about it, all of my least favorite episodes are ones centered on Spike. Maybe there should just be fewer Spike-centric episodes... It is, after all, "My Little Pony," not "My Little Baby Dragon." Oh man, I love that extended intro. It's cheesy, but that only makes it more endearing.
I've never seen anything cringeworthy. Some meh moments, yes, but hardly cringeworthy. I see some calls for Hearts and Hooves Day, but lets be fair, parts of it were intended to be cringy due to the nature of the episode. The term 'cutie mark' too a little getting used. I know its a traditional MLP thing, but for some reason the name feels out of place in this show. I suppose its nothing rally as it isn't brought up much.
Top cringe-worthy moment? The moment I realized how much I was enjoying a show meant for little girls. Curse you, Pinkie Pie!
1. Anything involving Applebloom having to talk 2. The lyrics of Raise This Barn 3. Spike's love for Rarity 4. Pinkie Pie in "Cloudsdale Academy" 5. Applejack constantly mucking things up in "Apple Family Reunion"
Every single moment involving Fluttershy's kindness, and her ability to get away with anything because of it.
